1. Don't worry guy. I got 3 copies of your book for Christmas last year. Having already bought it myself
2. Maybe a preamp pedal, Sansamp BDDI or simular would help? I use one for our C stuff. It really kicks things up a notch.

Grabbers aren't really too metally. It has a loud pickup and while it is a bit of a one trick pony it's a very impressive trick that it knows. The sliding pickup doesn't really change the tone too much. I generally leave mine right up to the neck. Grabbers rock. They don't do much else though. Also the neck dive is a right pain in the ass until you get used to it.

I have a grabber. It's got a seriously good rock tone. Kinda like a p but with more bite, it's disgusting with a sansamp. It doesn't take kindly to changes in temperature though. The jazz is a staple for me. I'd get an M/CIJ and get some hot pickups in it, wizard 84s or Hammers or simular. The geddy is nice but as a previous owner it's impractical. The neck is too slim for it's own good. There's a nice CIJ in the for sale section courtesy of OldGit. The colour isn't for me but the neck is to die for in terms of speed, comfort and craftsmanship. I'd definatly recommend one.

Hot jazz?
6. I may check that lemmy book out. Is it along the same lines as guys book?
7. It has to be said. I effing love Guy Pratt. He's the player Floyd always deserved and the only author who has ever kept my attention all the way through a book.
8. CIJ jazzes rule! I have a JB66US, I think that's the model number anyway, it's a monster! Also Si is a lovely chap to deal with. Buying this would almost garauntee you a look around his wood and tronics too. Best deal ever? I think so
9. I'm very jealous of whoever is getting this!
10. Epi T-bird was a mistake, as was the Warwick Streamer Stage 1 V, infact the only bass i have which isnt a disappointment out of the box is my grabber. I hated fenders until I modded a P and a J
11. always wanted one of these. good price too
12. being that age its a US build too. I still miss mine.
13. mines on Rotos too. I love them on my fenders but they just dont work on the T-40. I might try those picatos too
14. Id go for an Aerodyne or a McKagan, or if you're feeling vintage an ibanez blazer with pjs. or what Bassassin suggested
15. thats what it looks like! I take the ibanez comment back. Still don't like it though.
16. I really dont like it. looks like an ibanez
17. I love the iceni. Wish I had the readdies. You can never have too many super J's in my opinion. That said I only have one and it's currently out of action BUMP!
18. What's next to it in the middle pic? That's lovely! Not that the Zon isn't

I have one of these. If you want awesome rock tone a sans-amp BDDI is absolutely essential IMO. The programmable presets are handy, I only have one programmed but at least that way it doesnt matter if my settings get knocked around. BUMP
21.
I like that way more than the Alleva headstock.
Looks like a t bass too. I like it!
22. The alleva just looks like a TE T-bass to me. Body wise anyways
23. Wilcommen mit das forum That is/might be welcome to the forum in german for anyone who doesn't know
24. I've never played a 6er, nore do I have any use for one but none the less I'd love to have a go and learn My way around one. This one has my attention but I have no cash or trade options. Beautiful bass!
25. I've been tempted to sell but it just records so ridiculously well! Mine is a f***in nightmare live though. Any heat and the intonation just ceases to be, this is true of every one I know of too. Plus I'd be hard pushed to find another one. Mine doesn't have it's case, has been sanded down (by the looks it was once black). 40% of the cost for me was shipping and tax, I imported it from California.
