  1. I spent over a year trying to convince a guy I know who doesn't play any more to sell me his 80 something ric 4001. It had been sat at his parents house for years. The day I finaly convinced him he didn't need it any more we went to pick it up and his mum told me that she had given it to someones 12 y/o son from her church imagine how that felt

That's a fair point. I would really love to own this bass. But if I'm spending that kind of money I'm gonna wanna play it first and it's the best part of a day away. I've never played a ric as early as this. Not that I've ever disliked one either but it's big money. But f*** me this is nice

So if I want a 'hot' ric this isn't the way to go and I'm better off with a later 4001 or even a 4003? but I still want some sort of good investment ric but one I'm not gonna be scared to gig. What should I be looking for? Also what is the difference between a 4001 and a 4003? Sorry I've hijacked your thread by the way

Absolute stunner! What's the difference between the toaster and the pup on the modern ric?
  5. Shiiiit that's nice. Is it much different to a real one?

    Deleted.

I can vouch for that jazz being amazing. I have the same one in CAR.
  7. If I had a dargie I would for sure. I don't like dargies but I do like this
  8. Yeah either 82 or 83 it's basically an sb900 but White and gold. Plays and sounds great. Known as and refered to by peers as the poor mans Alembic
  9. Woah that's steep. I value my aria a bit higher than that. I really like this bass (for want of a better word) though. I don't think I've ever seen anything so cool
  10. Any interest in an Aria SB II elite as a trade?
  11. Must...... Resist..... Vigier
  12. Yeah she's a bit battle scarred. Missing almost all of the finish, missing the bridge cover, pegs a a bit rusty, grub screws in bridge are shagged but she still sounds great somehow. Go figure :s
  13. I'll get one up as soon as I get the internet back on my laptop. I hope I'm not building you up for a fall
  14. Anyone wanna see my slidey pick-up grabber?
  15. I love the starwars touch, and the rest of the bass. I'd probably loose the LEDs but I'm a purist. I play (and have always played) roto's. I was given a set of d'adarios by a producer, they didn't stay for long. I've learned to stick with what I know where strings are concearned these days. Where'd you get the knob from? I want one!
  16. I think it's an age thing. Mine is buckled to hell and back. I've never seen one that's not. That said I've only seen 2 in the flesh and I'm wayy too young to remember them new :s.
  17. To those who own multiple T-40s. I have an early non rail one, is the difference in tone that massive between it and the railed one? I kinda wish mine had more bite.
  18. No worries. I promise you this jazz looks, is built and sounds better than anything that's come out of America since the 70s.
  19. I'll take that as a no?
  20. Any interest in a battered CIJ 65/66 Reissue jazz in CAR with matching headstock and rosewood "dots n bound" fingerboard and neck and custom wound shed pickups and a badass as a trade?
  21. Does it have the birdseye neck? Is it the one with the bigger bridge?
  22. Just sold rich a Delano p pickup. Very easy fella to deal with and a knowledgeable bloke too. Spotless deal. Great guy. Top marks. Awesome.
  23. Offiially a top bloke, easy to deal with and a top geezer too. Can't say a bad word about Roon.
  24. Do you still have it?
