1. White pickguards Wooden pickup covers More than 5 knobs Ultra slim necks Coffee table tops 6+ strings Ugly headstocks (alleva coppolo) I'm sure there's more. *edit* blue/green bursts
2. As a recent Maruszczyk buyer I can only recommend it. My Jake is pretty good
3. This was my backup head when I played Ampeg. This got far more stage time. The most road worthy amp I ever played.
4.
Hmm, I'm not so sure. Looks like the normal TBird got hit with the ugly stick:
I think it looks better this way up. I bet it balances better too, infact my only slight gripe is that the controls are all in a line and the jack is on the side of the body. I much prefer the old school gibson look. But thats a drop in the ocean on what is otherwise a beautiful instrument. Having said that I'd still probably go for a PT4, because neither shape loos like it would be more comfortable than a P bass
5.
I must admit they do feel really 'thick' to me, and something about a plastic screwed on scratchplate doesn't feel right. I think they look nice from the front but the body shape looks awkward and bloated when at an angle, I think.
My beef with jazzes is the balance on the knee, or lack thereof. I'm much happier on a P bass.
6. The new non reverse is where it's at!
7.
I loved the B1. In fact I love almost everything the Essex boys have produced, but that? Nah. For me, it's second only to the Buzzard B2 in the 'ewww' stakes. (Although having said that, I don't like the Streamline much either.)
I like the B2
8. I think it's cool that it's retained the S2 horns. And it's no where near as daft as the B1 buzzard
9. Just noticed this on Instagram From what I can gather it's a prototype, and is being made for Alessandro Venturella of slipknot. Looks kinda cool I think. I Wonder if it's any good for metal.
10. I still think the Ebony and gold tops are the best looking of these. I normally love silver burst but it just doesnt suit the bass somehow.
11. That's gorgeous, But what was wrong with Pelham Blue?
12.
A fretless in that Amber finish would make me happy
Your bass would me me happy
13. Ho-lee f*ck that's lovely.
14.
6 knob basses aren't THAT uncommon... are they?
It's a bit of a knob fest
15. Lovely looking bass! I've never seen a transitional musician before. I have to say I prefer the old headstock. Congrats
16.
I thought these only came in 2-tone burst?
I can definitely see red in the photo.
17. I can't stop looking at this bass. It ticks every one of my boxes. I can see it on Dusty Hill
18. Words fail me. That is gorgeous.
19. Shouldn't have sold my - 78 P precision bass, Black and Rosewood Aria SB II elite, Pearl white and gold Gibson Grabber, ratty looking, evil sounding MM Stingray 2eq, Black and maple Kn*b
20.
I've just emailed Adrian to change my spec for the millionth time. He's sent a very patient and understanding reply, even though I know he's actually sticking needles in an effigy of me.
Post the spec already!!!
21.
Are they going to be at the LBGS? I might be joining this club soon but I'd like to try the Jake basses first if at all possible. Also - and this is a small point - I'm not a fan of the 'jake' name and the general graphic appearance of the headstock, do you guys think it would be naughty to ask for a plain headstock, or one that has my own artwork on it?
You can just have the centred M logo, like mine
22. This strikes me as apples and oranges. I don't see many similarities apart from the silhouette. Still sounds like an interesting experiment. As a former grabber owner I have always been curious about the ripper. Never played one though.
