1. I'm starting to wish I'd bought an off the peg one now. The wait is killing me and i still have atleast 8 weeks to go Still it will be worth it in the end. Having it custom spec'd and being different to any of the others (as far as I know mine is the only one with one of the features I have asked for, to date) will make it a little more special. *edited for poor grammar*
  2.
This choice one from sabbath has to be a contender
I'd have to agree with this.
  3. Has this always been the case with Warwick?
  4.
A snapshot from earlier in the year
Loving the Alembic. one day
  5. It depends what the trade was for I guess. I wouldnt go letting anything major go for it

Jelous! Owning an Alembic is a life goal of mine.
  7.
I've been offered an ealy 90's Washburn MB8 in a trade. I'm told they are pretty good, USA made with Status pickups. Has anyone played or owned one, what did you think of it?
http://basschat.co.uk/topic/151721-info-on-washburn-mb8-help-please/ hopefully theres some usefull info in here.
  8.
Isn't that like a BMW garage saying, "when we change your gear-box we'll give it a complete re-spray. You have to pay for that because as the original spec didn't include chips and scratches, that's the only way we'll send it back out." Or am I missing something. What if you like a road-worn looking Warwick? They'd throw a fit if they saw my Corvette. I've got dings and scrapes and Chinese writing on the back of mine.
My thoughts were similar. It's a good job they don't make cars! I can't imagine its an option many people take up. I dare say if any of the UK Luthiers had built you something they charged £8,000+ for you'd get pretty good after sales support. Its not even asif you'd be adding much value to the bass, the second hand market for warwicks has always been heavily geared towards the buyer.
  9.
Thanks for the tip on the G&Ls - I never really considered them because of the close pickup spacing on most models and the fact that the neck pickup is a long way from the neck. How does this affect the bottom end? I guess I need to try one. The reason the Rithmic is top of my list is because I've heard nothing but good things about them and it looks like the kind of thing I'm after in terms of scale, pickup configuration and string spacing (not that that means a lot, I know and I've yet to play one myself). Thanks for all the advice, keep it coming!
My L2000 has bottom end in spades. I'd recommend playing one for sure The preamp in the L Series is a bit left field, its cut only and has switch controlled series/parallel and active/passvie. I personally like it but if you dont have a go on an M Series, its a similar beast but it has a bass, mid, teble boost/cut preamp.
  10.
More importantly how the hell do you pronounce Maruszczyk?
Mar-oo-chich. I wondered this too.
  11. I really want a Mr Tee
  12. I can't recommend G&L Tributes highly enough. The L series and JB would fit in nicely with what you describe, and they can be had for a steal on Thomann
  13.
And here's mine...just received in the post yesterday! mmm mmm. Looking forward to gigging it (thats the real test!).
Dayum! Love the matched headstock. All the awesome bursts are making me wonder about mine being black. It seems a shame to hide the gorgeous grain they all have.
  14. Has anyone got the preamp in the Jake?
  15. I reckon mine will turn up with a black one.
  16.
So mine arrived today in case that wasn't obvious . I can post a photo tomorrow, however the picture above from Adrian can't really be beaten! After an evening with it at home, my instant thoughts are: - It's light! (7.3lbs) due to the chambered body (costed extra) - Beautiful finish, the shoreline gold (costed extra) is lovely, and the matching headstock really sets it off. - quality bridge, nice and solid. - Hipshot USA tuners (costed extra). - It's light. - the neck was slightly more shallow than I anticipated, which is perfect actually. Really fast and smooth neck. - frets slightly smaller than anticipated, really nice feel. - the above two points are largely born from my '71 Precision being my benchmark, which is a bit of a chunk. - really lovely & dark rosewood fingerboard! - the Haussel pickups sound great through my Markbass practice amp, but the real test is gigs this weekend, I'm confident! - did I mention it's light?! - the 'retro' strap that came with it is stunning, hugely happy with that! - nice gigbag too, simple but effective. Overall I'm incredibly happy, a 33" Precision bass is ultimately what I wanted, and I have that and more . Can't wait to gig it! Si
Sounds amazing, can't wait for mine to turn up now.
  17. SRs are incredibly well playing basses. My SR605 is amazing for long practices and gigs. I do sometimes wish it was a 4 string though.
  18.
Let's try this. https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xta1/v/t1.0-9/12294859_10207860542453547_8206519225930482875_n.jpg?oh=74a1474d5745601ec1195e64af12b849&oe=56EB4265
Thrice fan?

    NBD!

I'd love to see this in the flesh. Glorious looking bass!
  20.
My Gibsons. The ES335 is totally amazing and the Les Paul is a real tone monster that is massivley underated and has a powerful output for just about any style. think they stopped making the ES335 after a year as Gibson tend to do. Hopefully they'll reissue the Les Paul Signatures soon!
I'd love a go on a Les Paul bass, they have a charm to them!

  24.
Hopefully never - barely anyone would be able to spell it.
I've got no idea how to say it. Maroochick? I should have figured that out before I ordered one
  25. When are we changing the forum name to maruszczykchat?
