1. Temptation!
2. I played one of these in a shop about 10 years ago, loved it so I ordered the 5 string, hated that so I sold it. Should really have bought the 4. Gorgeous bass
3. I need this bass in my life
4. I like them, but they don't look like £1600 basses in my opinion.
5.
You could always try a Blacktop Jazz... and I quite like the idea of a J with a P pickup. Neck still too narrow, though! Has anyone got a J body with a P neck..? I could go with that.
Timmy C from RATM and audioslave had a cool bitsa jazz with a p neck.
6. I agree with Sam. I don't think I've ever been happy with a bass straight out of the box, especially ones that are anything to do with fender. It'll all be fine.
7.
You have it now? It's a beaut. The CIJ 70's P bass was traded for a Jack Casady, which in turn I traded (with a Mike Dirnt P bass) for a MM Big Al. I then sold that, and bought back Casady, which I've subsequently sold again! It would be quicker for me just to throw money down a drain, I think. Apologies to the OP for going off topic. I would love this bass - always wanted to try a US Bob Glaub and it's a great colour, too.
I've had a similar experience. I traded your Club bass for a 51RI, which I traded for a modded classic series 50s p, which I then traded for a status Matrix, which I sold to buy your Bob Glaub from another Mark. I haven't spent any more money though happily it's the sun burst one with a rosewood board and mint p/g.
8. I wish I could afford/justify this
9.
Cocco - they are pretty weighty, tons of sustain and the Gibson pickups are incredibly loud despite being passive. It is possible to get a pretty wide range of tone using the different pickup selections but I think they give a really nice even volume level on all 4 strings (rather than some basses which I think are loud on E & A but less so on D & G). You should have a dabble. Andy
I think I will! I'm also dying to play the EB13 and the reverse T-bird. I had a Grabber which I really regret selling. Gibson GAS is taking hold again.
10. That's gorgeous. How does it compare to the other way up T-bird playability wise? I'm tempted by the Pelham blue one, but then I'm also tempted by a Les Paul bass.
11. Isn't this what last years closet classic custom shop was?
12. I'm a big fan of gibson basses, never come into contact with a les Paul, though I've always fancied one.
13.
I have very serious GAS for this bass... One of my 'really wish I'd never sold that' basses was a Bob Glaub Skyline, and it was amazing. I can only imagine how good the US one is like. Looks round to see what could be sold....
That one now resides with me. It's a great bass! Do you still have my old CIJ 70s p ?
14. If the price is right I'd rip his arm off. I've been looking for an early BB for years.
15.
I can relate to this, I had purchased new what I considered the bass of my dreams about 4 or 5 years ago - a Streamer Stage 1 5 string (£1700) - I'd had a 4 previously which was superb quality and sounded fantastic (should never have moved it on), the 5 in comparison was extremely heavy, sounded very dark and didn't cut through the mix at all well - highs/mids were simply lost!? I persevered with it and would always start a gig with it - however 5 or 6 songs in and I always found myself reaching for my back up bass - a Squier Jazz Bass, by comparison this sounded amazing - even the guys in the band noticed my fills and commented how good the Squier sounded. I still have it today and up until recently had always been my back up on stage - I recently sold a Marcus Miller 4 as again I was finding it would be lost in the mix and have since replaced it with a Geddy Lee Jazz - this I would say is on a par with the Squier - perhaps even marginally better. I'd picked up the Squier used for £130 - so definitely consider it budget.
I had the exact same experience with a streamer stage 1 5 string. I think it's the reason I haven't even looked at a 5 string since. Twice I've spent big money (over £1000) on a bass and twice I've been disappointed.
16. Just wondering what kind of music you're finding it not suited to? I have a little spector GAS at the moment and am worried I may find the same thing.
17. I really need a go on a Spector.

NBD!!

I really want one of these, I fear it may make my Bob Glaub and T-40s redundant though. And I do like their vintage charm
19. I dare say it won't be cheap, but it will be so worth it.
20. war bird photo released! Oh wait....
21. Or a bass for Klingons? I'll get my coat.
