1. Love the duck! I have just got a Bob Glaub which is amazing. Does it have the fralin?
2. Who you calling a berk?
3. I suppose it depends what your using it for.
4. I have a 78 natural toaster too. Cracking bass! Someone's getting a bargain here.
5.
I got my Candy apple red pawn shop mustang today from Navada music in portsmouth, Its the muts nuts. Looks so sexy with my Blood red OBC115 and BH250 (its red too) will get some pics n thoughts up tomoz or sat but for now, take my word its the muts nuts
Pics!
6. The poles generate a field, which obviously is stronger at the pile than a few mm away from it.
7. Yammy.
8. Never really liked slayer, saw them about 10 years ago and was bored, really really bored. And that was 16 year old impetuous me at a metal festival. I don't understand why they get so much hype and have such a hardcore following.
9. I like the lpb looking one. Always had a soft spot for asats.
10.
G A big part of the feel of those basses is the vintage - style very small gauge fretwire they use
Definately agree with that. I don't think it's possible for a pickup to be better than the fralin mine has. What's the neo punch like? Just incase I fancy a slightly different back up to my BG. :0
11. 4 please. You only need 4, worse case scenario you buy 2 of our bass and tune them differently
12.
Yup, the Glaub is also the best Fender I ever played!
This.
13. I'm pretty sure mines packing a fralin. It's a great pickup. It's a great bass
14. Ou7shined?
15. My bob Glaub had its first outing tonight. Absolutely amazed by it! I didn't touch the controls all night so purely by how much I was digging in it was rawcus when I wanted it to be and mellow when I didn't. Is it telepathic? I've never had a more intuitive instrument. It damn near plays itself too. I've always loved P basses but every one I've had, and they have been varied has had something missing or just not quite right about it. This one is incredible. I am going to have to stop myself hoarding Laklands now. DJ4 and JO4 owners look out!
16. Oh and shape wise, I'd go and play all the fender ish shaped basses you can find and make notes on what you like about each shape, then come up with a sort of hybrid.
17. Do it! Sounds good to me. I'd also be tempted to go reverse P/MM. I'd want a good passive option too though.
18. Jazzes in general.
19.
I have a Mikey way squier, i got it more for the way it looked than any other reason. It was ok out the box but not great. Pickup was weak, tone controle terible and a lot of fret buz. After a few tweaks on the nut and a general tighten up of most of the screws i had it feeling realy nice. i have modded it a bit now, EMG pickup and pots black nylon tape wound strings, a black pearl pick guard (made by me) and fender jaz bass controle knobs. All told it has cost me about £360 and i apsolutly love it now. It plays IMHO as good if not beter than any MIJ mustang ive tryed, the only thing on the fender that is any better is the finish of the neck but that is purly visual (gloss finish as aposed to mat finish on the squier) . I have been and tryed the new pawn shop mustang too (im curently saving up for one) spent 2 hours in andertons in guilford trying lots of basses inc a couple of gibsons american and mex fenders . non of them came close to the pawnshop for finish feel and tone. so to sum up i would say the MW squier is nice, sort it n mod it then its as good as any MIJ and with the rite pickup better tone too. (and i would be happy for anyone to a/b mine against an mij) SOME PICS http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevefn/8501201218/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevefn/8500112503/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevefn/8500118397/in/photostream/
Sorry to hi-jack the thread but what's the tele bass in the second pic? Looks really cool!
20. Mustang!
21. Nearly bought one of these once. Fantastic looking bass and I bet the sound is great too. Good luck with the sale.
22. I was hoping not to pay import duty on it. I've sent an email to sims, hopefully they can help
23. Very Burke Shelley.
24. They're lovey. The Nate Mendel looks almost purple.
25. Anyone know where to get them from in the UK? I want a tortie for my Bob Glaub.
