1. Stick a new pickup in it.
2. Balls, missed the withdrawn bit.
3. Is this bass pretty original?
4. No problem, it's sort of flea ish in design, graphite neck, 2 Hot j pickups, she's a funk machine!
5. Fancy a graphite necked status energy?
6. Loving the legacy
7. I'd get a BB414. There's something about a passive BB tone
8. Lovely looking bass.
9. Surely this is a steal? I'd be biting your arm off apart from those chilli pepper inlays
10. Check the intonation once you've installed it though, get the action where you want it, tune the bass and fine tune 5, 7, 9 and 12 with the screws on the back of the bridge.
11.
cos it's a P bass- the general opinion is that high mass on jazz yes, on Precision no as it softens the perceived attack (thump)
I have a Gotoh 201 on my P and it sounds great. Hasn't tightened up the attack too much and it's nice and stable (bomb proof infact). That said I wouldn't ever put anything like a Schaller 2000 series or a Badass II on a p.
12. That's not an SB900, it's an SB II elite. The difference is in the neck profile, the string spacing, the inlays and the gold hardware, the electronics are the same though, and they do look similar so the confusion is understandable, Aria built the elites and the SB-R with a more familiar feeling neck in a bid to conquer America I think. I'm sure someone knows more than me. Was it sold to you as an SB-900?
13. Awwwww sh*t son!
14. Gibson in new bass pickup design shocker! Saying that I suppose they could be just chromed up T-bird ones. Either way I like it. Black for me please
15. That's an SB II elite
16. Aside from a ding on the underside, not where you can see or feel it, it's perfect. And no truss rod
17. Damn that's a nice bass at a great price. Looks like a rock/blues machine
18. They are gorgeous. I'd love a thunder 2. Congrats on them.
19.
I don't know what the ceiling is going to be but Shergold/Hayman guitar/bass prices seem to be on the up over the last couple of years. I bought a Hayman 4040 bass about 5 years ago for around £200, sold it 3 years ago for much the same. Last one I saw on eBay went for over £500. Marathon basses seem to fetch around £350-£400.
There's a marathon on eBay with a BIN of £700 at the moment.
20. What's the neck like out of curiosity? It says slim C, is that more jazz territory?
21. Gotta be gold. Have you though about an off white though? Like the parchment colour or the Greeny one? Only a gold plate and TV logo on the headstock doesn't seem quite right to me. I'm being pedantic though.
22. Pm'd
