1. Up for trade is my graphite necked status energy, that I got in a trade some time ago, it's a lovely bass, just not me. It's a cherry body with the status J-type pickups and the 3 knob eq. The neck profile is wide and flat and it's a non truss rod one. It's an early 90s one I think. Great modern tone and very playable, the neck really makes you play properly too. There's a slight ding in the underside of it but its not visible or noticeable, over all condition is very good Given the graphite neck I'd put a trade value of £600 on it. Pics to follow tomorrow, when there's good light. I'm in Cardiff but willing to post etc, I'm looking to get some sort of passive Precision or maybe even the right Jazz as a trade. Preferably in 3 colour sunburst, black and maple (to match my T-40)
2. Damn that's cheap! These AGC graft basses look like amazing value for money.
3.
Made this with them on, so I could get narrow spacing on a 4 string. Aside from that, they aren't far off any other bridge that locks together with grub screws.
Bet that sounds insane!
4. Definately G&L SB-2 for me. What a sound! I don't know what to compare it to but it's incredible, maybe not a true representation of a P but still well worth a look.

Awesome!
6. Didn't burton favour the SB 2 black n gold? That only has one pickup.
7. That's a ridiculous price for a status! Got me worried about re sale value on my graphite necked version.
8. Price is feckin steep though isn't it?!
9. That's definately the best fender parts bin special recently! I've wanted a mustang for ages. This is right at the top of my list now
10. I didn't even notice the bridge pickup.
11. I know it looks sh*te, but it might sound good. Still that doesn't forgive the looks. They've done the mike dirnt backwards basically.
12. Does this have the Lindy fralin pickups or the newer ones?
13. Got to admit. I'm a little obsessed with it. I'm currently in the market for lightish a p/j but was set on a passive BB until now.
14. Year of birth bump.
15. Thanks for the advice everyone. We booked our first rehearsal tonight so it's early days yet. It's nice to know what I'm letting myself in for though
16.
I think you should swap your T-40 for my nice, light, Roasdstar II, then your back will be fine!
Not likely! They will be buried with me if I have my way lol. Plus I have my Status energy for active jazzyness. If I was to go down the light weight route I'd probably look for a BB of some description
17. Just after any advice really. I've been in bands all my life but always original material so the covers scene is new to me. Obviously we're talking longer sets and venues that aren't designed for bands. Am I going to struggle playing for 2 hours with a heavy old T-40? Is my 8x10 going to be too big/much?
18. I'd buy one of these in a second if it had a P width neck.
19. You into any trades bro?
20. I love the colour, just looks..... Cheap somehow. Reminds me of the Joe Satriani guitar.

2x15 vs 8x10

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll stick with my 8x10 until I find something that sounds better, I'm not holding my breath though. Unless I find myself struggling to get it in and out of venues (new band will probably play pubs more than clubs). Then I might go barefaced.
22. I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that's on fugly bass.
23. Aaaaah that an amazing price, and only a black scratch plate away from perfection.
24.
I've been gassing for one of these forever! Has anyone ever seen one in red, black, or white with a rosewood fretboard and blade pickups?
I have seen a white blade with a rosewood neck, and I know of a tan burst and a natural with rosewood necks but never any other colours. The rosewood was only in production for one year (I think). That's going to be a difficult spec to find. The blade is the way to go though. Good luck with your search!
