1. Some of those looks amazing!
2.
I do believe I refused to "get it out" earlier! I'm slightly worried that people remember it! Good ol' "Captain Ribena"...
Dude, you could out purple ANY of these!
3. I currently an orange AD200 through an 8x10 And have done for some years. However in my new band I have more sonic spectrum to fill (only one guitarist who sounds nothing like my old guitarists). Would a 2x15 beef my sound up?
4. It sounds sweet doesn't it? I'm more interested in build quality and ergonomics though.
5. Where's the purple attitude special at?!
6. Anyone have any experience with this bass? I've always fancied a destroyer bass and there's one on eBay at the moment. Also on the off chance any one have an 80s one they don't want any more?
7.
when you ever played a wardrobe? isn't that a bit odd?
Just the biggest wooden object that came to mind at the time
8. Damn short scale!
9. I bet the pre amp is sh*t.
10.
They were all made by Status and still are.
My bad. I meant Trace branded
11. I had one of the last trace ones. A CAR with matching headstock and white scratch. Was a great bass to be fair, sustain for weeks and could do pretty much anything tonally, one thing I will say though, seriously big old body on the thing! Didn't notice so much on a strap but sitting down it felt like playing a wardrobe.
12. I can get everything I need in my octavia including an 8x10. Although I've seen bass players get 8x10 rigs out of micras in the past.
13. What's the nut width on this beauty?
14. There will obviously be a difference in build quality and materials used in the manufacture but that's not to say that £400 won't get you a good bass. It depends what you're after in terms of style. Active? Passive? Modern in design? Something more old school? Either way I'd buy a yamaha RBX or BB series or one of the higher end squires, Classic Vibe or Vintage Modified. Ibanez might also be worth taking into consideration if that's your type of thing. I'd also highly recommend buying second hand from our classified section where £400 will buy you any number of fantastic basses.

Passive basses

There's something missing in the tone of active basses in my opinion. I can't put my finger on what though. I've had a few actives in my time, from stingrays to shukers and every one has had something missing.
16. What's it sound like? Modern?
17. That's lush. I used to have an elite II in white. I think they're pretty much the same electronically. How are you finding the neck profile and narrow string spacing? I think I'd have kept mine had it been a natural finish. The white and gold was a bit glam for me.
18. I don't really get on with active basses though. But yeah, something along those lines
19. I love this! I don't have anything gibson or of similar value to trade though. I bet it rocks!
20. This thread is giving me terrible explorer GAS. Has anyone ever produced one with two P pickups? If not i may have to commission one with them..... Or a pair of di marzio model ones.
21. I love that. It's black without being too gothy looking.
22. Budgie wouldn't have been right without Burke Shelley either.
23. I like these too, wonky pickup or not. How much freedom do sandberg give you? If you wanted a P neck would they do it?
24.
Sorry I think that's the one I won last week. Arrived today and a quick clean up and some new DR Hi Beams on it................. I know people say they are good but i'm absolutely blown away - it just sounds incredible.
Pics?!
