1.
Yup. It's a special edition, apparently, though I don't know what's so special about it. The switch is in a different place, it has the Floyd trem and the headstock is the Shrimp fork shape. Plays nice though. I'm hoping to change the pick-ups at some point, preferably for some chrome ones to match the rest of the hardware, I had to change the knobs to chrome from the original gold speed knobs, which just didn't look right. The original pick-ups are really dull sounding, so I wouldn't be doing it just for aesthetics.
Sweet! I know it's not a bass but it's still cool. I'd love a hard tail black beauty looking one but with tidy pickups.
2. Dean cadillac?!
3. I have a 50s P, it's amazing to be honest. Love the neck!
4. If I was going to buy a warwick it would be a thumb 4 BO
5.
Nothing other than I find them boring looking. It seems to me that the musicians who use them revel in the description "workmanlike". I prefer my pop/rock stars to be rather more fabulous.
Fair enough. I like the mockingbird esque lower horn on this one though. And I love joe strummer so for me teles are pretty cool!
6. What's wrong with a Tele?
7. I toured with a band whos bass player had one of these. It was awesome! I borrowed it to record on and the tone was killer (pun intended) http://www.zeal-guitars.de/EN/?page_id=580 check it out. BRX might be into it too.
8. I'd love a mockingbird
9. T-40? You could get 10 for that money too!
10.
Then unless it turns out to be wrong for you I'd suggest this T-Bass.
That's gorgeous
11. Swapped my 51 for sams 50s p. Top dude couldnt have been easier.
12.
got there first
Great minds
13.
There's a decent selection of 4-string Warwicks in your price range. They do a nice line in understated natural finishes rather than coffee-table tops.
While this is true I'd never buy a new Warwick given the re sale value.
14.
I was looking at the Krist Novoselic earlier but do prefer the original RD model
Maybe even a 70s bicentennial T-bird? I know you're a fan of the bird. Or a mike lull t-bird?
15. Gibson RD artist would be my first port of call with that budget
16. Wow that's in great nick! Looking forward to the feature on it.
17.
Daphne Blue or Sonic? Great either way, I have a Daphne Jazz. Rose or maple?
Gonna be maple, I don't think it's either, it's a re fin, I think it's a bit darker than sonics I've seen.
18. Currently working on this Can't wait till its finished!

*SOLD*

Want!
20. It's not even a 4 pinter, its disgusting, Although a squier supersonic bass would be amazing, with a p neck and twin Di Marzio model ps....... I've messed myself.
21. I had the later one. It was the biggest pain in the arse ever. It used to eat valves and melt valve sockets and no one liked working on it, but what a tone!
22. I love that! In my opinion though it would benefit aesthetically from having a full size headstock a la ripper.
23. So I've just bought a mighty mite replacement neck for a precision project that I'm undertaking but it needs it's mounting holes drilled for the body and also the tuner mounts. Does anyone know the best way to mark up for these? Should I even bother doing it myself or just take it to someone who knows what they're doing? I have access to a pillar drill by the way.
24.
Word is that he rewound them himself, so hard to say what an off-the-shelf equivalent would be. He seems to be a compulsive gear-tinkerer, always sounds amazing though. If you're chasing his tone, I'd say the clean/dirty/filthy multiple amp setup would get you closer than pickup swapping though!
I agree completely! I already have an AD200, 8x10, modded Marshall Guv', and a sansamp so the dirt/filth isn't an issue. I just want a jazz that has evil in it.
25. I'd get a second hand Yamaha rbx or ibanez SR, well no I wouldn't, I'd buy a p bass but I think you should get a yam or an ibanez!
