1. I went to school with The Automatic. Not that it's going to earn me any cool points.
2. Is this a new colour?
3. You wouldn't want a 51 RI then?
4. That came out stunning. Having just recorded on a nice P I now have some fairly serious P bass GAS
5. That would be epic. Do you want to leave it up for another week and I'll get a thread going tomorrow for the 51 RI?
6. Well let me know if you fancy it I do quite like this bass.
7. Would you fancy a CIJ 51 RI p bass? Perfect condition with case.
8. I'd love to have any answers, they both look pretty cool. If you find anything I'd be interested to know.
9. Is it a jazz neck?
10.
It's a totally passive bass, no active electronics. The switchable pre sets are for mids to give the Jaco sound, not that would influence me, however in the bypass mode the tonal qualities are fantastic :-)
That's pretty cool. Let me know how useful it is in the real world. I was eyeing one of these up last year. I love the styling and they said they could do me one with a P neck
11. Stoked on seeing this!!
12. I found the neodymium magnets a lot more brilliant in sound than the ray. There was definate MM DNA but no ray growl. The bridge pickup is set closer to the bridge on a bongo, and the sustain from the neck isn't the same, the eq makes up for it but changes it slightly too.
13. Bongos def do not do the ray sound
14. I didn't get on with my bongo 4HH, much happier with my my ray 4 2eq. The bongo was just too much, fussy and complicated. But that's just me. At the end of the day tone is in your fingers and you don't need crazy eq systems to sound good.
15. When is this due?
16. I'd love a bird, nothing to trade though
17. Hi guys, Im getting married next august (2013) in cardiff and have been charged with booking a great band. Can anyone recommend one? anyone in a wedding band? We'd be looking for an entertaining rock based sort of an act. Songs by The Beatles, The Who, Oasis, Kings of Leon, The Stones, The Cure etc would be along the right sort of lines, tongue in cheek rocked up covers of pop songs would be a bonus too. What would be even better is if someone could do us a whole entertainment package with a DJ aswell. Myself and my fiance both want live music but we have to cater for everyone obviously. Thanks Ash
18. Good lord that's a lovely looking bit of kit.
19. I hate you all, I have some serious ricky GAS now
20.
The blackstar looks better than jetglo to me
+1 that looks positively EVIL
21. Jetglo for me, but only because mapleglo wasn't an option
22. I adore the sound of P basses, but I've never found one thats right for me, so for the moment I'm loving my T-40s
23.
BC Rich did much the same over the period - the neck plates were marked "LA California" despite being imports, so you get the odd EBay expert insisting they have a US-built bass from Nagoya, Japan (New Jersey, right?)...
Psssh some people. Although Pointy P/Js FTW
24. Ryan is one of the good 'uns, deal with confidence
25. I've always fancied an original iceman, is this a newer one?
