1. I know own a toaster and a blade, Incase anyone was wondering it is definatly worth owning both, they aren't worlds apart but theres a very noticeable difference. I can't find the words to sum it up but I love both for different reasons.
2.
I really dig the vibe of these basses - maybe Peavey should reissue it ?!
I have to agree. I think they'd have to be expensive if they were reissued though, all that ash and metal wouldn't be cheap I don't think. Anyone remember when they were being built? were they expensive?
3.
It is a shame. When I found out that this is not what a T40 is supposed to look like, I was a bit annoyed. I may be on the prowl for a body, just to get it up to code. Interesting fact that the rosewood necks are not as common.
Flat Eric on here has a fairly extensive collection of T-40s and parts. maybe it would be worth sending him a message? I know he's having a clear out at the moment too. I'm pretty sure he'd have a body.
4. Thats a real shame! Rosewood necked ones are hard to come by. I also have a 78 toaster. Both are great basses for different reasons.
5. Bought a T-40 off Flat Eric, He kept the bass for me until I could comfortably afford it, it came well packaged and in perfect nick. A true gent. One of the good guys to be sure, also check out his blog if you get the chance.
6. Today, after a long while of saving and selling things, The blade T-40 I bought off Flat Eric finally turned up. First impressions are great! Condition is near perfect for a 1982 bass, The tone is similar to the Toaster one but cuts through the mix better and the fit and finish feels better than the toaster too. Heres a pic for drooling over. I'm a bit besotted with it to be honest. I don't think it will be turning up in the for sale section any time soon! Maybe gear porn though.
7. Oh god, that's beautiful!
8. sh*t the bed! This is very similar to mine. It's my main gigging bass too. Grabbers are amazing, expect a little neck dive but it's a small price to pay for the amazing tone! I wish I had some spare cash, I'd love to have two grabbers. Don't fancy a Stingray 2eq do you?
9. Thanks MB1.
10. Thanks Dave They are pretty amazing. This one was bought in the middle of a Cliff Burton phase! I got the colours wrong though.
11. Nah, the only thing tobias about that is the name.
12. Hmmmm birth year thumb. I like that
13. Thanks dude
14. Could you email the photos high res to [email protected]?
15. How does it compare to your grabber? Mine is my weapon of choice, but this is rather lovely!
16. This is right up my street, no cash though
17. There's way too much choice, I'd love Shockwaves Antigua Green Warmoth P-J, or that sonic blue 75 RI that recently sold, or Clarkys Pino, or the 70s bicentennial T-Bird that someone owns. Although realistically my Grabber, T-40 and Stingray pretty much do everything I need them to. I'd love a grabber in better condition than mine too
18. I absolutely love this. I think I want it.
19. If mine sell I'm shotgunning this
20. I really like that! Could the neck be repaired?
