1. Mine is the first singlecut in the shuker gallery, is the one below it locally owned? It's equally stunning!
2. My shuker is made of mahogany, burr, sycamore, wenge and maple. Heavy? Nope, under 7lbs and lighter than my hofner. However my T-40, SB, jazz and T-bass weigh a tonne. The T-40 especially is 11.5 lbs. I don't think there's a connection between weight and tone.
3. marvo Im gonna start the actual organising process just as soon as Music box's calendar goes that far.
4. probably not gonna get a hit bump
5. It's official, I want one.
6. f*** me! That's amazing I love everything about it. Apart from the extra string which for me would just be a thumb rest. Sleepless nights set in yet?
7. Cool man it'll be nice to see what the J looks like finished. What spec have you gone for pickups/electronics and neck wise?
8. Oooh, what are the controls on the headless? The facing on the J is sweeeeet too
9. That's rather a tasty jazz. Good luck with the sale dude
10. I quite fancy one of these to use in line with my BDDI, I played one yesterday and it empressed me. If only it had a DI function
11. Me? I peak them too. I reckon I'd get away with a shuttle 9.
12. Hmm, how loud do you play? I have a vox AC30 and an orange rocker 30 to keep up with, the peak light on my SVT seldom goes out, also I use overdrive which never helps with the peaking of the gain section.
13. What's the output like on these? I'm on the Market for something simular in weight
14. That's lush! Shukers are amazing!
15. Up for possible trade is my Ampeg SVT-4 and 8x10 rig. The head is in good condition and is fully functioning, it's roughly 10 years old so still rocks the Made in USA monicker, it runs either 1600 watts mono bridged (cable included) or in 2x800 watt stereo, the head has built in crossovers and a compressor which are surprisingly good and easy to use. There's a 7 band graphic on board too. There's plenty of demo videos on YouTube if you're that way inclined. It does everything from SVT grunt to funk to p-bass on flats warmth. The cab is in okay condition, a few missing bits of tolex but the wheels, castors and drag bar and even the tag are all present. The cab supports stereo and mono, it has speakon and 1/4 inch inputs, there's even a really pointless 1/4 inch that only runs the top 4 speakers, seems daft as you can't leave the other 4 at home. I'm after a trade because I feel like I want something more hi-fi for a new project I've started. I'm interested in Genz Benz, Eden, Gallien Krueger, Hartke anything really. Drop me a PM or reply if you're interested. I'm not expecting much in the way of responses mind .
16. Ooooh how'd she handle? Was/is it piezo only?
17. Is it me or has no one mentioned Colin Hodgkinson - The Bottom Line?
18. I have no blocks!
19. Does anyone know what became of the fretless uberhorn with the mega fingerboard? I'd love to get my hands on it!
20. There's more to life than P's and J's dudes!
21. Any more attendees yet?
22. That's a LOT of bang for your buck!
23. Gaf I've done that so many times! Damn p basses and their awesome looks, I find them pretty unplayable though, steve Harris, Sid Vicious and paul simmonon are to blame in my case.
24.
where do you see cheap T-40s? The minute I see one I will not be able to resist it, so best if I don't see it but...
There's been a couple of good ones on here recently, Bassassin let his go and Flat Eric thinned his herd by a couple. I think all 3 went for under £500 each which for the instrument you get, I reckon is an effing steal!
25. I'd go Warwick probably, aim for a $$ but failing that anything active. Trace T-basses are great too if you can find one. Unless you want a trad looking bass in which case I'd aim for a p or an active j of some discription. There are better playing basses than fenders out there though. Ooh I almost forgot the almighty and cheap t-40, or an aria SB from the 80s? Both are very versatile.
