  1. Hey guys. Our guitarist is looking to shift a recently purchased roadworn strat in White. As new condition (for a roadworn any way). Nicely set up with a low action, trem is blocked but this is easily reversed. Gorgeous strat tone. The only problem is that it's not a tele apparently. Either pm me or email [email protected] for more info. I don't know what to say about guitars.
  2. Also yes dood that's exactly what i want for the J! Only in chrome. Do they feel good? What's the quality like?
  3. Yes! That's it exactly the j is like the one on the left and the p like the right hand. Have you ever looked for replacement tuners Stewart? I'd really like to have the same long stemmed ones on the p as the j. Hopefully with a detuner too. If I can find one to fit. If not what would people think of having the holes bored out? I have a very good local luthier in the shape of Dave Dearnley.
  4. No worries bro. Enjoy it! If for what ever reason it doesn't work out between the 2 of you I'd be more than happy to take her off you. And yeah that's some pretty ass wood grain. Obviously MB1 doesn't like to share
  5. Well pontyclun I live but yeah near enough I reckon it's settled then. Mb1 sends the king bass down and we share it!
  6. Good lad! If you need to convince a wife/partner/mother/what ever that it's gone get it on a bus to south Wales and I'll keep her warm for you
  7. What's the tone like on this?
  8. You have good taste MB1. Did you shift your king bass yet?
  9. Cheers buddy! I've been after a ray on the cheap for a while. I think I might source one of these instead now. Gutted I missed this. Thats some damn fine wood grain. Ahh well. sh*t happens.
  10. Actually they look more like they'd go on the P. The jazz ones have really really long stems. It's odd. Annoying too. I might take them to a tech and see what they think. Unless bassassin or any of the other jap afficionados have any ideas.
  11. The P and J defiantly have different machines with the Js appearing just to be a larger version. The Js stand a lot higher than the p, their back plates are a lot larger and the posts look roughly a 3rd larger than the p to the eye. I've just put both serial numbers into guitar dater project. It gave the p as 1997-2000 and the jazz as 04-05 both made at fugi-gen. The J is 60s spaced with 60s headstock logos, CAR with matching headstock and 3 ply White plate and a dots and bound neck. The original bridge had threaded saddles. It weighs very noticeably more than the p. The P has television logos and is Olympic white with a black 3ply plate, non threaded saddles. Both are strung over. does this help at all?
  12. The video confused me about the preamp. Is it a 2eq? Also what is the neck like?
  13. 90s CIJ is the only way to go I promise. They are ridiculously brilliant!
  14. I'm sure the gaffer is a p pickup in j casing?
  15. I had a streamer stage 2 Fiver, the broadneck one. It put me off fivers forever (hated the neck) but the sound, fit and finish and playability were great! Not to mention it looked ridiculously great. I broke the nut on it too, probs down to my heavy handedness. I really wish I'd spent the money on a thumb BO or a corvette $$ now. The 2 are still on my GAS list along with a ray.
  16. I just saw waynes post. I like your thinking!
  17. I know no one cares what I think but honestly a squier classic vibe is all the p bass you'll ever need. If you don't like basswood get a CIJ fender. When I got mine I tested a 2010 us standard too and the jap blew it out of the water in tone and fit and finish. Either way you save a grand which could be used for something else? To me a p bass is a work horse. I think super ps kind of miss the point.
  18. I'm so tempted! But I don't know weather to hold out for a 2eq ray.
  19. Help! I want new tuners (and hopefully de-tuners) on my 2 CIJ fenders. They are a pb-70 and a jb-66us (I think they're the model numbers) the jazz has bigger holes in the headstock than the p and the hipshot site doesn't help too much. I'm not gonna be too snobby about them being hipshot but I definatly want de-tuners and I thought hipshot were the only people who made them.. Help!
  20. Makes me wish I could handle a 5. Damn that's pretty!
  21. I might well be interested in this.
  22. That's a gorgeous bit of wood (and tronics) I'll get my coat ...... Taxi!
  23. This would make a nice partner for my CAR jazz. These have a j neck profile yes?
  24. PHUQ I like this
