Hello people, We're after a Bass player in the Peterborough area to join our band [b]EMPIRE[/b]. We're a British-sounding rock n roll band influenced by all good indie/RnR music from the Stone Roses to the Beatles to Oasis to the Smiths to the Rolling Stones to the Who. (Don't let that put you off - I know a lot of bass players aren't into most of that) There is the freedom to put your own slant on it though, and the Basslines are up to you - you won't get anyone telling you what to play and rightly so. We're not looking for John Entwhistle either - as long as you can hold a bass and get some sort of sound out of it then that'll probably be enough. We've got all our own songs, and have done a gig a few months back. Circumstances with rehearsal rooms (our regular one shut down) and a few other things has meant it's been a bit stop/start since then though, but we've now found a place and are looking to move it on and get this thing moving. Unfortunately we've had to sack our other Bassist as he was a bit of a twat (Only joking Liam ), haha in all seriousness our last bass player had to knock us on the head as he was in another band too and was struggling to find time for us both. If he's about on here I'm sure he'll vouch for us being an alright bunch of chaps. Ideally aged 20-30 would be good - we're aged 26, 28, 29 and 29 and we now practice on Wednesday's 7pm-10pm. Being committed is a must. Having a decent haircut would be a bonus too. Let us know if you're interested at all. Hi chaps, I've seen there's a few from Peterborough/Cambs on here so thought I may as well try my luck! Right we're looking for a Bass player aged around 22-30 (we're 26, 28, 28, 28) to join our band. We've been together for about 6 months, but although we've been playing our instruments etc for about 10 years we're new to this band thing so band/gigging experience isn't necessary. We've been told we're pretty good though from those that have seen us - hopefully they weren't just being nice! We think we're good anyway! We play our own stuff, with one or two covers thrown in - and rehearse once a week. We're looking to be doing some gigs before Christmas. Our influences include most Great British guitar music ranging from the Beatles to Oasis and everything inbetween (Kinks, Jam, Stone Roses, Smiths etc etc etc.... so we're not going to suit the types that like to make your ears bleed! We're just 4 normal chaps, easy to get on with and enjoy playing music. All of us like football too. Only other criteria is that you're a geezer, dress well and have a decent haircut! Anyway, if anyone fancies it let me know... Ta Matt
