1. Doesnt bother me. I get a free bump! Cheers Gary, Bob
 2.
Thanks very much for the kind offer, but as i haven't been to Tewkesbury for at least 20 years and am unlikely to do so in the near future, hopefully you'll have sold it before I next get there! Good luck with the sale and have a BUMP on me!
I think if you pass again in 20 years time I'll still have it, the way this sale has been going................
 3. I always gig with the same bass nowadays (a white Yamaha 2024X), and bought this identical bass as a backup, so consequently its travelled to all of my gigs in the last year or two without ever coming out of its case. Bit silly really, and as I am selling off stuff at the moment to fund my early retirement, thought it would be sensible to downgrade my spare and let this fabulous bass go to someone who would at least use it and abuse it. They are (hand)built as solid as solid can be, and I can see my gigging 2024x outliving me! This is the real deal, using Yamaha's chemical and physical ageing processes to settle the body wood down to a state it would be in normally only after many years, and as a result, it sounds incredibly good and sustains forever. When I bought my first one, I was in BassDirect trying out nearly every bass in the shop, as you do, and my wife was bored stiff leaning on the counter, when she suddenly said, "Whats that?" She had heard me play the Yamaha, and said it sounded different to anything I had ever played or owned, and unbelievably TOLD ME to buy it!! I have never regretted it for a second, as its quite light, very comfortable to play, incredibly well built with the smoothest fret ends and the best sounding pickups, and comes in a super hardcase as well, similar to the current Fender cases but a lot slimmer. I think the colour is "antique white" or similar, but its a creamy colour rather than a simple white. I have added Dunlop straplocks, and its pretty much mint. I would like a quick sale please, with no trades thanks as I am cutting back on numbers. NOW WITHDRAWN FROM SALE. Thanks, Bob
 4. I really never thought I would sell this bass, but I am drastically cutting back my collection to fund early retirement, and its not used very often so would be much better going to a new home where it would be fully appreciated. Its an unbelievably good bass, one of Alan's best I think (and it was much praised at a Moffat bass bash a while back), having the benefit of an ACG filter pre amp, a powerful RFB pickup and a Hipshot piezo bridge, so you can get a phenomenal range of tones and blended sounds. In addition, there is a coil split switch (which I have never fully understood!), and a low battery led indicator. One of the filter pots controls the piezo, whilst the others run the volume/blend and the RFB pickup frequencies. In addition, there are SIMs amber leds fitted to the neck, which were then wired up by Alan (not after market additions). The body is light Swamp Ash, with a 4mm Wenge accent, and an Okoume top, and the neck (which is asymmetrical) is 3 laminates of flamed maple, with a fabulous acrylic impregnated flamed lava Bubinga fingerboard. Strap locks, gloss finish and all black hardware complete the picture. A Hiscox case is included, and the bass is absolutely mint, having been gigged precisely once since Alan built it. I would like £1100 please, with no trades as I am cutting back. NOW SOLD, stp. Thanks. 5. I'll second that! Bob
 6. if in doubt look at BassDirect's second hand prices...no VAT is applicable.....phone Mark if you have an issue....not me obviously... I think the reason is that Mark sells second hand basses on commission, i.e., he isnt the owner and merely sells them on the owners behalf as an agent, so he will only pay vat on the 15% fee he charges (which is charged plus vat to the seller), through his usual business accounting processes.
 7. Sold Simon my Aerovibe, and it couldnt have been a more pleasant transaction. Had a good chat, and look forward to seeing him again sometime in the uture. Cheers, Bob
 8. It really does sound good. However, there has been no interest so far, so its off to ebay soon. I really thought this one would sell quickly. Oh well.
 9. Brilliant Mike! I'm so glad its being used properly instead of sulking under a bed......... Thanks again, Cheers, Bob
 10. If you were ever passing Tewkesbury, you would be more than welcome to pop in for a play? Bob
 11. This is one of Mackies lower priced range of pa speakers, but its still a really well-specified piece of kit, and for the money is wonderful. We have been using it as a powered practice monitor for our drummers electronic kit, at which it excels having a 15" speaker and bi-amped (class D) putting out 300w and 100w to the tweeter, but I guess it would be just as good as a stage monitor. Its light (36lb), and apart from a small crack in the plastic casing on one corner which it had when I bought it, its in excellent condition. 12. Couldnt agree more, but then I would say that!
 13. Dont look like they are stuck on? They are mother of pearl type thingys. Forgot to say, it has a really nice Guitar Research gig bag as well.
 14. White Retrovibe Aero (copy of Fender Aerodyne) and gig bag. I bought this last year as I really liked the look of it, and intended to swap out the pickups until I found some that really suited the bass, which is a really classy instrument. I have, it has to be said temporarily, soldered in a pair of Nordy P/Js, which sound immense! No need to do any more experimentation, although the bass would benefit from having the pickups soldered in a tad more permanently (my soldering skills have definite limitations!). Since I bought her, a lot has happened in my life, which has caused me to need to cut back on the equipment I have, and this beauty has been sitting in a bedroom for the last few months whilst I sold off some of my more expensive basses, so for a really quick sale, I would sell for £200. She is in really good condition, only a couple of years old, and the pickups alone are worth not far off that. NOW SOLD
 15. Final price reduction to make space in the garage bump.
 16. I'm a very happy StageClix user. Arent the Samson and AKG systems illegal now? I bought the StageClix because I thought my AKG bug (brilliant by the way, never let me down over many years) had been outlawed recently.
 17. These really are the bees knees. Make me an offer, I can only say no thanks!
 18. For sale, our "spare" pa speakers, which we have used precisely once since buying them last year. We have another set the same that we have been using all the time, which we have been absolutely blown away by, having replaced a pair of Mackie SRM 450s. The FBTs, which are made in Italy, are far more detailed and crisp, much more powerful, unbelievably light and being digital, probably more reliable. They cost £1400 + cases, and we are looking for £950 please. I have photos, but for some reason cannot seem to load them at the moment. If you look on Ebay, you will see some for sale (ours are absolutely identical, mint in every way and the latest model) for just under £1400 with no cases, so they really are a bargain. Just look at the weight/power! We get compliments at every gig about the quality of our sound, and would never consider a different make now. NOW SOLD FBT ProMaxX 10a Features & Specfifications:

2-way, bi-amplified, bass reflex design cabinet
250mm (10') LF neodymium magnet woofer with 64mm (2,5') voice coil, custom made for FBT by B&C
25mm (1') throat exit B&C HF neodymium magnet compression driver
Frequency response from 58Hz to 20 kHz
Bi-amped: 600W RMS LF, 300W RMS HF, Class D power amplifiers with switch mode power supplies
Digital signal processor with 8 equalization presets
Control Panel: features XLR input and link out, Volume, EQ Presets, HP Filter, Ground-Lift Switch
90 deg H x 60 deg V constant directivity horn
Sturdy gas-injected polypropylene molded enclosure with one integrated handle
2 x M10 suspension points, 35 mm (1,3/8') top-hat speaker stand socket, wall bracket mount flange plate
Dual Purpose: Front of House or Stage Floor Monitor: 12, 40 and 55 degree monitoring angles
Dimensions (W x H x D) 310mm front/ 170mm rear x 540 x 275mm
Extremely light, only 11,2 kg (24,7 lb)
