1. I love dealing with Tom. Its the way things should be. Bob
2. At the age of 57, playing in a band whose ages range from 30 to 62, I actually feel younger on stage, and that cant be a bad thing? We have a great time nearly every gig, get loads of free food and drink, paid well and meet lots of really nice people. If I didnt play, I would have half as many friends, be boring as hell and possibly even fatter than I am now. Surely I have "made it"?
3. I know nothing about this (and will find out), but if its Hiscox Insurance, they are a fabulous company that usually specialize in "high net worth" policyholders (i.e., rich).I love dealing with Hiscox in my job (drainage claims!), as they are a pleasure to talk to and very customer focussed.
4. Mr Slaters Parrot, by The Bonzos. Dont ask.
5. What can I say? What a great guy, unbeleivably understanding after what turned into the transaction from hell (take a bow, Parcelfarce). An absolute pleasure to deal with, and I look forward to better results next time. Cheers, Bob
6. Excellent transaction with Karl. Brilliant communications, and he drove all the way to my house to collect the bass. I really hope you enjoy her Karl!
7.
No prob matey, I also couldn't find the price anywhere in this thread?
Hi. It was down to £725, but I must have deleted it somehow when I edited the first post, sorry! Bob
8.
Um, what is the process please? I can't see it in this thread, must hav been edited away by accident? 4 string overwater-tanglewood aspiration elite?
Hi. I have got a Tanglewater already thanks, I was hoping for something like a "real" Overwater Perception? Thanks for your interest though. Cheers, Bob
9. Will now consider exchanges for a 4 string Overwater, newer model please, payment from me if any difference in value? Bob
10.
I'm wondering how they got my email address..
Dont know, but arent those photos all lifted from Bass Guitar Mag? Do you subscribe to this periodical?
11.
Any idea of the weight?
Hi. I've just tried to weigh it on the (electronic) bathroom scales, and it says "error"! Obviously too light to weigh, but I would guess between 8 1/2 and 9lbs. Not heavy, but not featherweight either. Certainly no problem at all strapped on, and less than my Tanglewater.
12. Thanks for all your kind advice. I've bought an Accugroove Whappo Junior. I hope that was the right thing to do.... Cheers, Bob
13.
I was playing my DJ4 yesterday at rehearsal. These are indeed great basses. So playable with nice juicy tones. If anyone is looking for a Jazz they should seriously consider this bass.
Thanks for the kind comments, and you are so right! Cheers, Bob
14. Excellent deal with Darren. Bass arrived exactly when promised, and was actually in slightly better condition (excellent) than I expected! A pleasure to do business with Darren. Cheers, Bob
15.
From our acoustic gig at the Upton Blues festival in July - several other members of Rattlin Bone (we did a separate full band set on the main stage) came on stage for the encore version of Tom Wait's 'Yesterday is Here' ... which was pretty cool and went down really well with the audience (we had been a quartet up to that point) And here's me from the Rattlin Bone set later that evening in zombie make-up (same pic as my avatar)
Hi Clarky. I came to see you at the Upton Blues Festival, but on the wrong day! The website said you were playing on Friday........... (I did complain, but got no answer from the organisers) Cheers, Bob
16. Chay bought a cab off me today, and met me half way for collection, but came on the train!!! I didnt envy him carrying the cab back to Cardiff, and hope the train wasnt packed! Great transaction, fun negotiating, and a super friendly guy. Cheers, Bob
17. Bought a cab from Pat today. He took the trouble to come and meet me half way, the cab was pristine and exactly as described, and the whole transaction was stress free and exemplary. Many thanks Pat! Cheers, Bob
18.
+1, deal with confidence folks, it will be painless! What other basses you moving on then Bob?
Youre all too kind! Do as you would be done by I always say. Not fully decided on the next sales, but I have the first "new" Wal Mk2 made in 2009, a white Stingray (!), possibly a superb ACG Finn single pickup/piezo with leds, maybe a Status S2 with side and face leds, who knows, could be a Tanglewater Contemporary Jazz, might sell a black Roscoe Century Standard. possibly others. No bargains, as these will be part of my pension fund! Cheers, Bob
19. Very kind offer, thanks Karl. There are lots of nice people on this forum! Bob
