Any one used these 1u power amps? Are they reliable? Seem good value for money, and very light almost as light as the peavey ipr but in 1u space. They don't seem to have a speckon or 1/4" connection for my pre amp. Any experience/info would be great Vic

Hi all I've been lucky enough to track down a Pearce bc 1(and not from America) and I was hoping some of you could give me some help with setting it up. I've always been an amp head guy and this is my first pre for the time being I would like to run it using my GK fusion 550 as the power amp how do I do this? The Pearce has not arrived yet but from pics I've seen it has tones of send/returns which one should I use then where should I connect it to the GK would the fx return be the best? I know it would be best to use a speacker lead but could I use a regular lead till I can pick one up? This question may seem a bit stupid but I don't want to damage any if my kit. Do I turn on the GK first or the Pearce? Also I would love to know some of your favourite settings. Thanks for your help Vic

Dave also makes stripped down versions where he takes out the di, headphone amp and boost switches and this does make it cheaper if you don't need all the bells and whistles.

The Fafner 2 is really tempting me has anyone tried one? I play mostly rock and metal and like to have a punchy clean tone but also a killer overdrive.

the MTD has a fantastic neck IMO much better then the 55-02, yeah the 55-02 has better pre and maybe pups but if you up grade the MTD you are on to a winner. MTD all the way.

i use the DHA VT2 Twin EQ Bass and have to say i like the tone alot more then the sansamp,to me the sansamp is just giving you that slight scooped Ampeg tone the DHA lets the tone of your bass pass through to the amp but gives it a nice bite or full on drive. with the DHA you also get alot more control over the valve saturation and the tone controls i find are much more responsive. DHA everytime over sansamp, also check out owen electronics some very similar stuff on there to.
