  1. Congrats! I love the look even more with the grain coming through. You beat me to the sale ๐Ÿ˜† I too fancied an impulse buy, I contacted the seller earlier to ask about condition etc..... who told me it was found in the loft....๐Ÿ˜ฎ How does it play/sound? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. Did you ever finish this? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. Great stuff Andy
  4. Yup, I think it's hopefully turned into a bargain for the lucky buyer too, bit of a steal IMO. Come out wherever you are, tell us what you think of it ๐Ÿ˜‚
  5. Anyone on here buy the Camel Journey Precision? It looked like a decent lump of Japanese goodness, and went for ยฃ206... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153215216646?_trksid=p2471758.m4704
  6. ......and.......... relax ๐Ÿคญ Good to see normal service has been resumed ๐Ÿ˜‚ We'll pretend that blue period never happened ๐Ÿ˜‡

  14. ''Gary asked me to pass him the album sleeve so he could use the sleeve notes to prod his memory. "OK, we've got 'We Close Our Eyes' and that's sequenced bass. Funnily enough, I met Paul King out in LA and he said to me: 'I really love 'We Close Our Eyes'. We put that track up on the monitors as a guide to listen for bass sounds when we do our tracks because we really love the bass on it.' I didn't have the heart to tell him it was two Roland SH101s - which are about ยฃ150 each - linked up together.'' Taken from here; www.muzines.co.uk/articles/go-west-producer-gary-stevenson/1308
  15. Nice work. I'm sure I read somewhere that that particular bass line was created using two linked together Roland SH101 synthesisers? I also remember Jools Holland, following a performance by Paul Young live on The Tube, announcing that 'Pino's new band Go West will appear on next weeks show' no doubt much to the amusement of Messrs Cox and Drummie....๐Ÿ˜–
  16. One of the best adjectives I've seen on BC ๐Ÿคฃ
  17. Always admired AC's work, superb. For me, I think what sets him apart is the speed at which he shifts progress along, it's amazing how he cracks on with several projects on the go. One day I'd love to have him build a bass for me, it must be a great feeling anticipating the new arrival after choosing materials and spec etc. Good on the OP for treating himself
  18. Sorry to add this after your hard work, but for info, 36 years ago I defretted a neck and used a darkish woodfiller rather than wooden inserts. Finished the rosewood board with a darker stain and waxed after fine sanding. I was never bothered about changing neck profile etc as the neck was perfectly playable whilst fretted. It's never let me down since. Audiences may disagree mind, as my band mates always referred to it as my Tuneless bass.... ๐Ÿ˜–
  19. Great job I'd be well chuffed with that
  20. I'm wondering if it ran back into the jungle....
  21. Great frog story! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ Bostick was a pain, all that string coming off the tube, kids these days are missing out sitting in front of screens instead of blowing up kitchens and chopping up frogs IMO Anyhow, back to the Camphor Burl, did it get filled? ๐Ÿคญ
  22. Ahhhh, the good old days pre H&S For those not of a certain age ( I'm guessing you and I are similar SpondonBassed ) I think he may be referring to this 70's toy... https://www.pinterest.com/pin/292311832051583702/ Not wanting to hijack the thread, but I also remember almost blowing up my mates kitchen with his Chemistry 6 set.... ๐Ÿคฃ The joys of two 9 year olds and a methylated spirits burner.. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
