1. i replaced mine because fender make crap pickups
2. dunlop green .88mm
3. dave ddf has what you need for newport centre. you sure as hell need way way more than a 5K rig for that.
4. male. 4 strings. i'm a balls out rock n roll/metal bassist. i sling my bass low. i play for the song, not me. if some i play doesnt work in the song no matter how much i like it i won't use it. i play in a melodic death metal band and a more 90's influenced melodic band in the styles of jimmy eat world, far, kerbdog etc. i will only buy basses by fender, fender, fender, musicman, g+l and lakland. valves and an 8x10 are the way for me. \m/
5. just priced how much this will cost me to build with parts from guitarpartsresource.com. about £430. if i can find the funds i may have my own little build diary thread.
6. i'd say make the body bigger to fit with the horns issue. more wood for sustain. bigger bodied bass are cool and rock n roll which is where i see this shape being played. im not a fan of gold hardware and i dont like the scratchplate but i cant think of anything better. i do like the body shape. also i think a 2 a side tuner formation would be better.
7. mesa 400+ and ampeg 6x10.
8.
Might be good if you offered to ship - if necessary - as Gwent isn't easy for everyone to get to (especially for me! )
i don't think he wants to because it only comes with a gigbag.
9. i know, i agree.
10. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Active-Jazz-B...1QQcmdZViewItem i've played it and it plays sweet.
11. i think my marshall has more bottom end than an ampeg. i want to try the fender 8x10
12. mij is better. the end. btw go to www.guitarpartsresource.com for cheaper badass II.
13.
Is there nothing on Basschat? (selfless plug) I have a 91 Fender USA stack-knob Jazz reissue available for £575 (£1200 if you want a new one), with the P&P that would hit his budget spot on! Pics here. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3653
i'd go for thst if he wants fender.
14. didnt realise you used lbs. you just used numbers. the warick neo is 20kg lighter than my marshall and 10kg heavier than my sunn. its pretty light really.
15.
in fact, ive just checked, and the Warwick 810 NEO comes in at 119!! without a 400 watt amp in it! :S:S
its 54kg
16. i would always put a comp last because for one it your signal maybe run through a comp in the pa so if you have it last in general it's closer to the front of house sound and i reckon you'd send a better signal to both your amp and the desk.
17. how much you selling this for? it would make a sweet backup.

cheap fx loop

i've just bought a zoom B2 and i don't want it in my signal when im not using it. i don't want to spend loads on a loop box. ifs there's kits around that'll be sweet. anything true bypass really.
20. ive never really found moveing my 8x10 around much hassle at all. im 8x10 for life.
21.
Just wondered why you put a jazz neck on it
yea man its looks really. i love the look of it. i do love jazz necks aswell though.
22. well if i had to use the new equipment from different brands id use: lakland basses either fender or ampeg all valve heads and matching cabs and maybe DR strings. i have a set of blue ones waiting to go on my p-bass
23.
Stick some ash trays on it and its not far off. you don't like a p bass neck?
i love the p neck. if i had a custom it would be a p neck with blocks. that mm p is sweet and good skillz ped
24. i don't normally like these basses looks wise but that is sweet. i need some dosh.
25. i agree with you both. i just spotted it is all. the bass is sweet.
