2.
What is "too expensive"? I have had good results from the Seymour Duncan SMB-4A. http://www.thomann.de/gb/seymour_duncan_sm...ebasspickup.htm £70-80 new, I snagged one on evilBay for £45 delivered.
i was thinking of that, can it run passive?
 3. a little bump for monday
 4. i want to put a musicman style pickup in at the bridge position. to start i want a passive one. can anyone recomend a pup that isn't too expensive.
 5. basically i had an aphex 661 and ebayed it. when i sent it it was working perfect. a week after i sent it the guy complains that its not working etc. so i recieved it back and all the pots were jammed and grinding and there's just white noise coming from it. is it worth fixing and where could i get it done? i'm based in south wales but i don't mind sending it to be repaired. info here http://www.aphex.com/661.htm

 9. i onder if you could fit another pup in the original space so you'd have a closely spaced double pup version.
 10.

where did you get that little board from?
 11.
Nash - I'd definitely try out a compressor. Aphex is as good of a start as any. Pick one up from Sound Control - be careful with the packaging and return it if you dont like it.
i've got a comp on my sunn built in. i quite like it as it gives the tone a boost etc.
 12.
Lovely basses btw Nash (or should that be nash?)
lol cheers dude

 14.
Hey NAsh.....whats this .....3 forums were' able to "chat" on Now???? I know ther's more out there BUT some.... well...... better left alone.... Now I've NEVER tried an Aphex anything so....can't he;p ya there. Outta interest what cabs DO U run yr SUNN 300 into usually. I rum mine into a Berg NV610 usually, sometimes into my Aguilar GS112 & MESA/EV TL115 oor sumtimes intop just the Mesa/EV TL115 15". I LOVE the sound of the amp into the NV610 best but the 15" is great too!
i play through loads off different cabs. rarely do i use mine at a gig.
 15.
Mate that's an odd band name..
haha yea i didn't pick it. i joined the band just before xmas last year. they'd been around for 2 year prior.
Yeah, but BWP are a good laugh live, so it'll be worth the trip anyway, especially if Sheep from Seventh Cross gets involved in the pit
yea hereford should be jokes. who are you. i'm sure i will know you.
 16.
I just thought the title was worth a chuckle post... *chuckles* Anyway - Is it just me or is the black one substantially larger?
yea the sb one is a 94 special. it used to have active electronics (until they broke) and a jazz pup at ther bridge. i'm not really a fan of p and j combo.
Is that a 70s P ?
nah its and 86/87 mij. i had it off OBBM a few months back. it's by far my favourite bass.

 22. i really want to try one with my sunn. there's something missing in my tone. nothing signficant but something. especially when i run through cheaper cabs which is obvs.
 23. you could use the speaker off your combo to your head and keep the volume at 0.
