I'm selling a bass, pics coming soon, make me an offer.
3below replied to thumbo's topic in General Discussion
I can only sell this to dedicated bass players who give cats and stray dogs a good walk every day. Will accept collection on a Wednesday when the moon is full. You must live within 5 miles of Wangleston East. I will only let this bass go to a good home since I have loved her with no expense spared. she is unsuitable for thrash reggae or double drop tuning with cryo strings. Contact me in writing on 07434 414666. Please do not contact me if you are a tyre kicker, time waster or dreamer. -
Peavey Tour 700 - dirt cheap 2nd hand, graphic equalizer - Double bass through the Barefaced Dubster is an experience to behold possibly I am lucky my db seems very feedback resistant.

Having owned both Dr103 and 201 in the late 70s early 80s I will just confirm their reputation. Loud, clean, great sound, awesome build quality. The DR201 is not for weaklings - it is rather heavy.
Travelling to get a double bass is a bit of a mission as we only have a Micra though for the right price i would strap myself to the roof.
It will fit, I used to get my DB in a Micra (old rounded model) easily. Micra long gone, DB still with me. Great car, super build quality and totally reliable.

Serious (and I do mean serious) problems with musicman neck...
If you buy second hand, no, you are not the customer they need, because you are not their customer... the sale was already made to someone else previously.
The s/h market is just as important. It is the same as cars and houses Poor residuals, low purchase rate, poor new market. In 41 years of bass playing I have never seen a neck like this. How much does a replacement neck cost EBMM? 30USD? I form my own judgement about companies and their support with what appears to be a faulty product from manufacture. I spend my money accordingly on new or s/h kit, it is about their attitude to customer service and product reputation. -

This is very disappointing service. Very disappointing for you as well. Still EBMM must be satisfied because they stand by their products firmly. How much does a replacement neck for a serious (and weird) fault cost. How much do lost sales and reputations cost. Strike 2 on basses for me. First was R*kr for their attitude towards s/h copy sales. Second is EBMM since I have to take a big chance if I buy s/h, no support with a major fault. What a shame I am the sort of customer they needed - some disposable income. -
We are all different in respect of what communication method we respond to. I prefer email (must be old) and in my case can not have phone on during work time other than for serious situations requiring immediate action (don't ask, it is not glamorous). A further factor is living in the Bermuda triangle, many, many areas of Mid Wales still have no mobile signal. You can send your text but it will be stuck in the ether.

I have been robbed, I thought my £150 bass was the nuts. I must go lower My peavey Milestone iii at £40 is not bad. So who has the cheapest bass with a great tone (free as in given does not count) and what is it?
You could just call Peavey on 01536 461234 and ask to speak to Sales. I ordered some pots for for a TKO75 and a special 150 they were about £2.40 each
That is playing outside the rules, an unfair advantage. Is your real name Lance

Could be worth a trip to local engineering workshop or garage. They might have a suitable 'easy out' or even a left hand thread bolt. A fiver in a used note well spent. The other tactic that can work is to find a suitable width (sacrificial) flat head screwdriver. It needs to be a tight fit jammed across two opposite angles of the rounded hex adjuster. It may need filing to fit, it needs to be a tight fit. There is only one way to go, unscrew and remove. If you get it out, replace.

Good to hear that it is wired up and good to go

Excellent, share the specs please.

Burns Bison or whatever re-issue? Not for me, sorry. I am a Gibson bass lover, the ES335 bass will finish my marriage lol, but will be worth every penny.

how long should I wait before I start asking for moderator help?

I have bought several basses from here. All have been at very fair prices, some £200+ below shop prices. Somehow seems wrong to buy here and then make a fast buck selling here at a profit. I know it is buyers choice and a free market. I guess I feel that if I have a bass from here at a good price, I should pass that good price back to others here. Yes I agree some kit will increase in value, yes I will add in what I might spend - new strings, setup etc. It is not simple. -
What else at home needs repair ????

Cost benefit analysis needed here. Do you have epoxy? what could you use it on instead of pot repair. would the cost saving of other repairs with that epoxy exceed the £1.28 purchasing pots. I think we need to be told

I really like TI flats, use them on most of my basses. My experience with the B string not so good as others report. I drilled my Rockbass corvette bridge out to get the string to fit - easy DIY. Despite tweaking trussrod and raising action I found the B to be floppy. Great disappointment because for my taste and playing they are just super. The remaining E to G were excellent. Anyone want to swap a 4 string fretless Rockbass for an immaculate 5 string fretless Rockbass (with TI black nylon flats now)? I can't hack the narrow string spacing.
I really like my cheap Warwick rockbass freltess. nice feel and lovely tone.......... but.. a bit.... quite Suggestions?
ditto, I am wondering what to do with my Rockbass streamer, great tone, light, well put together, plays well... lacks volume (compared to G&L and Kramer) Suggestions please.

Nice repair idea, is just a matter of getting stuck in with correct value pots. I like Peavey kit of that era, it is bombproof and repairable. Downside was I did not enjoy the weight of my Bass Combo 300.
