2. the original was on Double Bass played by Willie Dixon, you just cant get the same feel on electric.
3. Unknown Pleasures Joy Division..dreadful in 79. I quite like it now.
4. Thumbs up for Graham. Item exactly as described and arrived well packed and tracked. The world needs more Graham!
5. Yes please..pm sent
6. Slightly off topic. I got out of end of year exams at school coz my right hand was in plaster and couldnt hold a pen. I write with my left , so i think I qualify .
7. Oh well , as Lemmy said 'as long as Im alive so is rock and roll'.
8. What about Elvis? Hes just been at Number 1 and done a tour with a big Orchestra ..
9. Actually it goes to show how we are tracked online...I was reading about ducks earlier and up pops a Facebook article about him dying..
10. My internet is a bit slow !@@
11. Has he passed away? Seeing reports he has, while on tour in Tokyo....
12.
There's an OGWT clip with Barry playing a Ric copy....An Ibanez IIRC. They played 'Definitive Gaze'. Had no idea that he played a real one! Love to know which session that was. I had a chat with their bass tech (via MySpace...That's how long ago) on the Magazine reformation tour, and he was going to ask Barry which basses he played on which albums, but never got an answer! I'm personally not sure what he used....Given the effects, production, and live shots, who knows? He sounded awesome whatever!
I got abrief chat with the Man after the Manchester gig on that tour..2009?. Bazzer told me he could only play the Permafrost bends on the Magnum. I belief he used a Roland CE1 Chorus pedal also- pre Boss days.
13. Theramin...but it still sounds cool
14. Yes, Jah Wobble uses the same..its that big neck pickup that does it.
15. Big hero... just bought a Magnum because of him. Theyre going up in value it seems. Correct Use of Soap showcases Adamsons playing to a tee. As for Devoto, Ive been mistaken for him on occasion .
16. If you want an insight into the British rock and roll fans if the 70s ĺook for a film called Blue Suede Shoes, a documentary about late 70s weekender event..
17.
John mcGeoch, guitarist with Siouxsie and the Banshees, Magazine and PIL (and my all time favourite guitarist ever) had given up music and become a nurse too just before his untimely death.
And Howard Devoto also became a model worker....
18. Jim Lea, Slades bass player .I think hes a psyciatric nurse or similar. Also Phil Taylor , drummer in the iconic line up, just hung up his sticks saying he had played with the best no point in carrying on.
19. 34 years.... Ovation Magnum recently bought from forum member Ash. Probably the nicest neck Ive had on any bass, lovely balance, just the right amount of dents and dings and a neck pickup that can cure constipation at half a mile. Its a keeper.
20.
So is the berg from what I recall ..
I wouldnt say the big baby is hifi sounding but its certainly clear and projects very well.
21. Big baby 2 is light as a feather..love mine. Its 8 ohm though so check your output for that.
22. Fx pedals have the input and output on the wrong sides. Input should be on left, out on right.
23. Theres a new mic on the market which looks amazing...never heard it though. Check out the Ear Trumpet Labs Nadine...
24. Top man Ash. Bought his Ovation Magnum.. Hassle free, thanks
