34 years.... Ovation Magnum recently bought from forum member Ash. Probably the nicest neck Ive had on any bass, lovely balance, just the right amount of dents and dings and a neck pickup that can cure constipation at half a mile.
Its a keeper.

So is the berg from what I recall ..

I wouldnt say the big baby is hifi sounding but its certainly clear and projects very well.
Intriguingly they mention that wireless users should get in touch with them...have they invented 48v phantom wireless? Or some sort of power supply to stick on the bass?
Ive never felt the need for vol and eq on the neck p/up. You can get good tonal variations by trying out different positions for it. Once your happy leave it in place. Youll be surprised how different and out of balance a bass feels if you have too kit stuck on.
But then again each bass is different and the only way youll know is to do it.
Why wouldnt you go wireless? If tidy is the order of the day then it cant be beaten. Line 6 G30 ytransmitter is smaller and lighter than any pre amp. You ll get a second hand for around 100 quid.
IMHO.
Line 6 relay series of wireless all work great with a piezo plugged straight into them. Both pickups wired together on a mono jack, with a mini trim pot on the neck p up to set its level.
Job done .

I believe that's the one I'm borrowing from Happyjack so I look forward to trying it

Saw one on Gumtree yesterday £85
If you can find a Fishman Pro Plat II, the old version with 5band graphic then buy it. You should get one for less than £100.
It cant be beaten as a pre amp for DB.
