    Never used a mic but the Promethean is a great combo for DB. If your not happy with your amped sound at any point dont question the amp , they are bang on IMO.

    If you want to go for an American instrument like a King or Kay, Engelharts are more readily available.the Engelhart brand took over from Kay and use their factory. Dont confuse the King brand of old with the modern King brand who produced the more colourful modern rockabilly style basses.

    I have only one major issue with my BB2. I should have bought the silver face .

    If using the send jack only on amp no 1 mutes the volume them try a dummy jack plug in the return socket...it worked for me in the past.

    Try more basses before you decide. I dont think eub's have much similarity in the way they feel to a double bass.

    Nothing wrong with a bit of torn up fag packet to use as a shim.. its all about getting the right pressure on the pickup.

    Upton bass have a good instalation vid on youtube.. Mine works fine with parallel faces in the bridge. The p/up works better in some amps than others.better results with a preamp , recomended

    Bridgewood Neitzert used to sell Rev Solo. Bought one a few year ago from them.Worth a shot. The Rev is a great pickup when fitted right. The Stat needs phantom power I think, a pain in the butt. Go for a Rev Solo, i have used yhem since they came out, 10 years ago? still going strong
