  1. The PQ3B Isnt a true parametric, the bandwidth is fixed for each of the 3 ranges.I prefer the GE7B ovr the PQ3B there is more overall sound shaping ability.
  2. Richard Hawley last night in Manchester, great venue, the Albert Halls, average gig.
  3. Why has Rockabilly Bass forum gone? Did it disapear up its own arse?
  4. Recently aquired Yamaha Mg16xu passive mixer, DXR12 cabs and one Dxs12 sub. Fantastic sound and within your budget. Packs big punch for its size. You may need Mg20 mixer with your line up.
  5. If you see the rock and roll show footage of the Wembly show from the early 70s you can spot a long haired Wilco Johnson in Chucks band..
  6. Not sure of the theory but it certainly cured a very weak sounding A on the D string, and gave a more solid sound overall.i have a knotted tailcord so adjustment is easy.
  7. Getting your tailpiece set correctly, as in string after length.I ve just adjusted the tailpiece cord length and it has improved the sound dramatically. Length of string behind the bridge should be 1/6 of playing length. Just thought I would pass it on.
  8. Rev Solo or Planet Wing are the best balance of getting volume while retaining some Double Bass characteristics...use a pre amp with notch filter and phase invert switch and thats about as good as it gets. basic rule seems to be. mic or underfoot pickup = natural sound, low feedback threshold bridge wing pickup= slightly less natural sound, higher feedback threshold. mag pickup= more vol than you will ever need, no feedback. take your pick!
  9. Thomann now seem to be sending a Uk mains kettle lead with orders , free of charge..
  10. Mine please

  12. The one thing the B3 wont do is the phase inversion. Essential for DB.
  13. Tilting back my promethean has the same effect as lifting it off the floor.if you dont want to loose that feeling its got to stay on 4 feet or on top of another cab. IMO
  14. I havent bought from Alan Gregory but I can recommend them if you need work doing when you purchase a bass. Have you tried David Vernons in Salford & Ayres Violins , same road as Gregorys?
  15. I used to think they were a 6 piece group till now.
  16. I got a Maplins mini preset pot and wired it between the neck pickup and output jack.its set to add click at desired amount.no need for 2 outputs from the bass.no affect on bridge puckup at all. Cost about 80p
  17. The daily commute would much more fun if roadworks were lined with wizard hats instead of traffic cones.
  18. I have a Chevy Orlando, lots of bass room in the back, enough for 2
  19. Maybe if Thomann had used punctuation it would've got there.😕 Nothing short of excellent service to report here.
