I'd have to say no. I'd go for a barefaced 2x12 or similar. There's a massive difference in sound and still a one hand pick up. Also, barefaced compacts can be picked up reasonably and also sound massive.

I'd recommend a Barefaced cab and keep your current head. I've never tried a pf but they get good reviews. I have a super twin and every head I've put through it sounds monstrous.

Hi there, for sale is my Genz Benz Streamliner 600. Awesome tone, power and flexibility. I'm just an Ashdown man at heart and am selling to source a new ABM. These amps use 3D technology that make it sound and feel like an all tube power stage. It sounds like the SVT 2 Pro I used to own, at a 10th of the size and weight! Here is a review and demo of the amp: https://www.youtube....7szg61bw&t=443s It is in perfect working order but shows a small sign of wear on the top and bottom. It is Purely cosmetic and occured from being racked with other equipment. I have now taken the top and bottom off and sprayed them so it looks lovely again!!! The amp lights up perfectly and looks really cool whilst in use. Although Genz Benz is no longer in existence, this amp can be serviced with Fender UK. I'm in Barry and any tryouts are most welcome at my home. Comes in its alliminium box that also has room for leads, pedals, plugs etc... I'm only selling as I have 3 amps and can't justify such a luxury to er indoors!! Thanks for reading and if you have any questions, please ask and I will reply ASAP. Cheers, Dave.

I had a 2 pro and downsized the cab to a 4x10 which was 8 ohm. I was then told it would be bad for the amp's transformer and power valves. As many said it was ok, I continued to use it. After about 3 gigs, the power valves failed and had to be replaced..... along with the cab! I had an ex Ampeg engineer on talk bass tell me never to do it. Only 4 or 2 ohm. Good luck mate.

You should never use this amp at 8 ohms. Some people say they do but it is not good for the amp at all. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I have had this straight from the horse's mouth.

Yep, best company I've ever dealt with, inside and outside of music.

Hi all, as the title suggests really. Ideally I'd like a bag that opens front and back so I don't have to take the amp out. Anyone seen these? If not, what's the best bag or case to buy? Cheers in advance for any help, Dave.

Change my Hartke HX Hydrive 410 for a Barefaced Big Baby 2?

I have a super twin and it's the best cab I've ever owned. And I've owned lots! -
I've probably gone through about 20 cabs in the last 10 years. It was so bad at times that my band would take the piss asking what cab I'd turn up with at each gig. They were either great but too heavy or light but too thin sounding. I recently took the plunge and bought a Super Twin by Barefaced and absolutely love it. I can now see what all the fuss is about. It's massive sounding, with cracking tone and punch and I can pick it up with two fingers. Suffice to say, I'll not be in the market for another cab until this one either breaks or gets stolen! They are that good I promise you, genius!

Aria Pro SB Elite 1 pickup only half working
dave74200 replied to dave74200's topic in Repairs and Technical
The pickup in my SB Elite has also failed in a similar way. Both these places offer replacements at around £100. http://www.armstrong...aneous-pickups/ http://www.rautiagui...ria-pro-ii.html Dave, is it black and did you post it on south wales bass players Facebook group?
Thanks mate and yes it is! -
Hi guys, I've just bought the bass and the pickup is picking up the E and A strings properly but the D and G strings really quietly. After testing it by prodding it with a screwdriver, only the top half is working. Can this be fixed? If not, where do I get a replacement from? Thanks for any help in advance. Cheers, Dave.

Or try a Tech 21 VT bass pedal mate. I'd highly recommend them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_be9GSlt_eQ

I've always found that the only way to get that proper Ampeg valve tone is to buy one of their amps that takes two people to carry it!
Should really read 'Because of what the foo fighters bassist has used EXCLUSIVELY FOR OVER 15 years I want to be faithful to it within reason' ;-)
Along with Biffy Clyro, The Stranglers, Blockheads, SOAD, Suede, The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, Pino, Pink Floyd........ I could go on!

Buy an Ashdown ABM 810. They normally go for really good prices, 200-300 and are awesome cabs.

Does anybody know if it's possible to buy a new front grille for an Ampeg SVT 410 HLF so it'll look like the AV version, with the silver front? I really like this look and would go for it if it were possible. Cheers in advance.

An outstanding example of an all valve USA made SVT. The amp has been recently serviced and has always worked perfectly. The holy grail of bass tone in a box. Why am I selling? Because I'm only now always playing small venues and although the 2 Pro has a master volume, allowing you to have awesome overdriven tones at low volumes, i feel that the amp is not getting the true exposure it deserves. This is the best example of a USA made SVT that I've ever seen. It is in excellent condition and the tubes have years of life left in them. Comes in an excellent condition flightcase. I'm based in Barry and any tryouts are most welcome. This is priced to sell so please no silly offers. This is the amp that you must own at least once in your life! Please PM me any questions or text me on 07581329020. Cheers, Dave.

Cheers guys. Really appreciate it.

Hi, as the title suggests really. I adore the amp but get fed up of picking it up and carrying it around. The amp itself is manageable but the extra weight of the flightcase makes it hard work. Has anyone housed one or a similar amp in a rack bag? I I'm close to trying it so would really appreciate any advice you may have. Cheers muchos.
