  1. That colour ❤️❤️❤️
  2. Heard about these a few times but never tried. Anyone use the nickel ones going from rotosound?
  3. Tonerider trp1 pickups are my favourite pups to date, love em
  4. I love roti's 110 gauge nicklerounds, I know they don't last super long and can be slightly rough, but after years of searching for "the one" string sound (low priced and high) Ive never found a better sound for me....... .... The thing is the last couple of years its been a gamble buying packs as I've opened so many now where the E is as dead as a door knob fresh out the bag 😑, anyone else get this? Has their QC took a dive? It sucks as I love them for pick playing
  5. Many P's have come and gone, mex, jap, USA...... But my modded Matt freeman bass will never go, oi love it 😘. The neck profile on these are spot on. gotoh Bridge and tuners, kiorgan loom and pots and a vintage tonerider pup. I've Lightly sanded the neck to a satin feel, engraved stained wood scratch gaurd, a cheeky f neck plate and 70s logo.100%the best p I've had in my arsenal, thumps and plays like a dream.
  6. Shame there isn't more info on this, it looks lovely imo... Roasted maple neck?
  7. Think that's my old cab, cracking cab at a good price... These were in the grand mark new
  8. Grab it quick I say
  9. Are you meaning the 500w mini max Andy? Sure the mega hasn't a tuner on it
  10. Any mini mega uses here?..... That play heavy types of music through one, any thoughts on the punch factor? I've heard that the sound is fairly transparent(I'd use my vt in the input) I've read a huge thread on talkbass, and it sounds like a class D that has that elusive "heft"?... I might/might not be joining a new drop C heavy band using my 6x10 cab, if not then I've not shelled out a lot of dosh on a premium brand head.
  11. Ahh sorry dude, thought I put sold in the title? (went a while back) .... Good choice from ampeg to this though 😉
  12. As a alternative these are awesome at giving a great tube heft sound (they have a full tube preamp) . Having had svt's before I was over the moon with this And if you really want a total ampeg sound stick a tech 21 vt bass or ampeg preamp pedal in front. Super light for a class ab transformer head
  13. What about a 7 Pro? Bad reliability issues with early models.... But apparently all sorted now and get cracking reviews on talkbass. Supposed to give a good feel of a svt, super loud and light.
  14. You might be right binky_bass. Maybe a different name on it people might be touting it as one of the best tube heads ever (IMHO it pretty much is)... A superb all British made amp with high end components( gold connectors, premium valves etc) quality built and awesome sounding head.... for peanuts!(in the valve head world)
  15. What's a decent sub £50 ear plug out there that doesn't suffocate sound and freqs? Not after a high dB blocker. For years and years I've stupidly always played without as I've struggled to hear nicely with plugs, but in the minefield of different manufacturers doing them now they might be heaps better? Cheers
  16. Excellent pedal excellent price! tempted to buy as a spare? Sold my othet spare on ebay last year for 47.
  17. Yeah the carbon look is naff. But for the likes of me if the effects sound top notch..... Then the simpler to use the better
  18. Final price drop 😞 (rather keep it than go lower) £550!!
  19. Just seen zoom's new touch screen multi for guitar Looks quite cool and simple to use, hopefully a bass specific version coming? I'd guess it will be a lot better value than the others out there.
  20. A roasted neck in a passive P style would peak my interest.
  21. You need to boost the eq imo, treble nearly full, bass slightly rolled off full, volume quarter and gain just off quarter gives a lovely grit tube sound. Not too great at the highest gain settings... But everything else is fab. You certainly will not find better for 30 quid! Bargain
  22. I had that amp many moons ago when I was 16.made me happy then, big push buttons on top
  23. Arrived in the post Friday, had a practice not quite what I want. Sounds excellent for low gain, bit like a rc booster with more options Rave reviews here https://www.talkbass.com/threads/tc-electronic-spark-booster-underrated-champion-of-low-gain-overdrives.1234881/ Brand new with 2hrs use.... Put a couple of bits of pedal velcro underneath but I'll take of if wished. 40 quid posted Pics when home
  24. Needs gone now so willing to drop to £595! As in post I'm happy to securely package in original box if anyone wishes to sort out their own courier to collect.... Or pick up here and trial, or half way meet with vid demo...... For the price (£1450 new) and that its in Ex display condition im certain you won't find or play a better amp 🙂
