1. Excellent :-) primarily Count me in ( need to check the diary ).more than happy to bring my Fender super bassman 300 head and ampeg cab for anyone to try , with a bundle of pedals.
2.
The guy i bought my Orange OBC115 just went for the 800 version and swears by it altho i think its a transistor power section in his. I heard one of these at the Fender roadshow few yrs back and it was a thunderous tone with clear mids and highs. Nice one. Maybe i should look at that instead of the AD200b head altho i've tried the Orange and liked it a lot. Dave
Obviously(as always) you should go with what sounds and fits best for you :- )........ but i just couldn't dial a great tone (for me) with that orange head , i found it far to bass heavy and too much low mids( thats with knowing flat is around quarter/full/quarter on the low mid high). I play Drop C in a loud band , i couldn't get that head to keep clean enough to cut through without distortion! and the head was properly biased without fault . I highly recommend you try the bassman out if you have the chance to before you buy as it is really in another league imo . it's a very versitile amp that most tones you could think of can be found with ease ,with a splendid weight behind each note. i find it easier to carry than the orange even if it is a touch heavier :-)
3. No introduction needed I think? The closest thing to Ampeg in a pedal preamp .... This is the 5th one I've had lol, Definitely not needed with my new amp. Excellent condition in its tin with paperwork. £90 posted Open to trades Pics up later
4.
I don`t think me playing a BC Rich Warlock would look "right" in my punk/Oi band.
wouldn't that define punk more if you did? ;-)
5.
Looks great, nut width?
Cheers .. says 41mm on my ruler (like a comfey P bass)
6. I have not had this long ,recently purchased from here http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry3189949 .. it was awesome when i got it .......in the short time iv'e had it iv'e added a custom made pickguard , fitted a new fantastic (as always ) Kiorgan loom with new knobs.....and i took it to a guitar luthier where the frets have been leveled crowned n polished . (original plate ,controls and knobs included) more info about this here http://basschat.co.u...anez-blazer-pj/ Now it plays superb and looks like a dream :-) it has heaps of punch in them old pickups (dimarzio clones) just put on a new set of ernie ball slinkys 105-50 Everything works as it should ,truss rod etc not sure what the weight is ? (no scales) ...at a guess id say 9lb's or just under ....not bad at all and balances great imo I really don't want to let it go but with my style of pick playing the J pup gets in my way :-( Iv'e spent just over £160 on it so i think £380 is a fair trade price Comes with a brand new Tiger padded case so looking for a trade ideally towards a .. mexican 50's P Squier CV 60's p Peavey T40 Yamaha bb1024 or W.H.Y?(Mainly passive bass's) Happy to add £ adjustments where needed. If anyone needs more pics then happy to mail (as my upload quoter is full )
7. Just purchased a Green Rhino from Kevin . Super chap to deal with ,fast postage and bang on coms ...........Grand basschater :-)
8. Haha....Do it!;-) you easily nail all the Ampeg tones with the fender plus more.
9.
But how much lighter Dan ?
Hi mate . it feels about the same weight as the Orange head was ,around 7kg lighter than the Ampeg .........it's still heavy but it makes the world of difference carrying the head from my house to my car ( lot's and lot's of steps to climb)
10. I'll report back when it's gone through a band thrashing
11. This is not my rig btw .....But the same cab head, thankfully I think I can live with the slight overhang ( worth it for the sound ) . But I know what you mean though . I am eyeing up a used fender neo 6x10 bass direct have in stock now though :-D
12. Everything anyone wants to know about these amps https://www.talkbass...-thread.935619/
13. After a very Disappointing venture with a Orange ad200 , man is that thing over hyped! going from a SVT to that was like filling your ears with playdoe , for me it just felt like mud . I love Ampeg valve but the weight (oh the weight) ...had to go, thought i'd never be able to get that tone and thump again........wrong :-):-) Just received this Wonderful Super bassman 300 from Kevsy71 of this parish( what a fab chap to deal with btw) only had a hours fiddling tonight with my epifani 2x12 cab , both channels just blow me away for tone .....now the hype for these amps of late i do get now. Cannot wait to give it a test run through my big ampeg cab at next practice ........must resist buying their 6x10 cab haha

17. Boss OC2 (Taiwan) excellent condition ,this one seems to tracks great ....i'm just never using Octaves £90 posted Boxed with all paperwork Awesome valve sounding Malekko trem (with internal gain pot) £45 posted Raygun Aurora Delay ....nice broken delay sounds to strange oscillation (not a zillon miles from the carbon copy)£36 posted Boss TU2 (the old standard ) £35 posted
18. I'm very tempted to buy it for "the sake"
19. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262843608316
20.
Indeed, the tuners might be the closest thing this bass has to a flaw. Which ones would you recommend?
i wacked these http://g-gotoh.com/i...roduct/gb2.html in .....think i got em for around£50 off ebay , they feel supurb quality and look cool. I'll wack some pics up later
21.
I've gigged mine a few months and I have no issue whatsoever with the tuners, quite frankly.
one of mine went loose and rattley
22.
Really? The pickups I could maybe understand (although the stock ones - Tonerider I believe - are OK), but the bridge is fine and the tuners perfectly acceptable IMO. The problem is, once you start modding cheap basses where do you stop? These basses are great straight out of the box and put to shame many instruments at twice and even three times the price!
I dunno the tuners felt a little cheap to me? iv'e always used gotoh bridges (maybe a placebo effect with sound)..... but the spacing on the stock bridge is ever so slightly wider than normal which i didn't like. with the bridge ,tuners ,pups and kiorgan loom it cost about £200 .. all in all about £600...But! i have had a us p bass and many others come and go but this is still here ,the neck is perfect for me :-)
