It is indeed a Vester Bass, with a Bubinga Body and a Wenge neck, the same as mine........but the front of the headstock looks funny.
-
Issue with the headstock? Mine's a "Custom Shop" as well, but it isn't that horrid "badly painted" colour, and it's got a mother-of-pearl "V" sunk into it.
Someone once recommended one of these on here (or one of the earlier incarnations). Though looking at it I'm not 100% sure the platform is completely horizontal.
My ex-Bands guitard bought one. Two minutes with a hacksaw on the front legs, and it stood perfectly horizontal. (The rubber stoppers remove and re-fit easily) Two bungee cords later, he could wheel it in and out of gigs, just taking the bungees off whilst playing. It carried a 2x12" (upright) and a 2u rack case.

The obligatory "Atmospheric Shot" checking for dust... and the " 0.25 seconds after attempting a 'Rock Pose' and the Bass rebounds off your gonads" shot. -
Just bought a Wharfedale Active P.A. from Jake. It was stacked beside the door, ready to load up when we arrived. He even helped us to load it, but didn't warn me about how loud it was. Tested it in my conservatory when I got home, and now need new windows. Great lad to deal with.
-
We shared a bill with Glyder last year, and it was understood that we would supply the Backline. (P.A. was hired in) They turned up, socialised, had a laugh (and the odd bevvy) and when it was time for their soundcheck, I started to tell the Bassist about the controls, in case he needed to alter them at all. His reply-"Ahhhh, you use a Precision, the same as me, and you've got a f*cking brilliant sound. I ain't touching a thing." The response from ALL the guys in the Band was in a similair vein, and we would happily share a stage with them anytime. Now that's the kind of people you don't mind sharing with. I wish they were all like that.

Last night I almost died - literally
BigAlonBass replied to woolleydick's topic in General Discussion
I stepped up to the mic to do some backing vocals 31 years ago this week, (how old do I feel now?) saw a bright flash, and woke up in the Ambulance on the way to Hospital. I'm a fully paid-up Member of the "Back From The Dead" fraternity, because apparently my heart stopped, and it was only the prompt action of a Doctor in the audience that got it started again. If he hadn't been talked into 'slumming it' with his relatives, I wouldn't be here to annoy everyone with my rambling. Guess who uses a tester and an RCD EVERY TIME he plugs anything into a socket? -
I also saw a geordie 'DC covers band at one of the "Music Live" events demonstrating Marshall gear and they were excellent, can't for the life of me remember their name though.
We were called "Back In Black" but we've since gone our separate ways. The "Angus" in that Band is now the "Angus" for Livewire.

Sold me a rack case, and even included photographs of it "before" posting, so that I could check the condition of it "after" it arrived. Excellent service, and a great BassChatter.

Sorry, me old mucker. I seem to have hi-jacked Waynes thread here. I'm happy with my set-up, and I got everything working the way I wanted by the "try it, and if it doesn't go BANG! it works" method. I was just telling Wayne that he wasn't the only one to suffer from a type of "word blindness" when someone is describing an easy (to them) way of sorting something out. It seems that Wayne and I have the same type of problem-show me a picture, or show me how to do it-sorted. Use words of which I have no conception of their meaning-panic! I don't actually think we are thick, it's just that if you have no idea what something is, there's no way you can envisage utilising it, therefore a "middle ground" has to be found. I wasn't getting at you personally, or anyone else on this site, as I've found us all to be an extremely helpful bunch, but just as an example from an earlier post-In that case you would need to use a 'stereo' or more accurately TRS jack at the sending end and connect the tip to the ring to link the signal through the socket. Same as you would do to use a mixer insert as a Direct Output (eg for sending to a PC/Recording Device) and still have the signal go through the channel. Easy enough to wire up. What the heck does that all mean? To someone who uses electrickery a lot, it probably IS easy to wire up, but to me??? Silly things (to you) like the difference between parallel and series wiring remain a mystery to a numpty like me. The diagrams look pretty, but when I look at speaker configurations in the back of a cabinet, I seriously cant tell the diffference-it's all spaghetti. RTFM!!! doesn't help much either. When I first got my 3630, it rambled on about "sidechains" and "stereo recording" and "signal differentials" and "twin channel outputs into two amplifiers" and the like. About as helpful as a chocolate fireguard to someone who had no intention of utilising any of these, so I plugged it in on one channel and turned the knobs until it got the sound I wanted. Not very scientific, I know, but it worked. I didn't want a tuner in the "chain of command" so I didn't bother plugging it in, which makes me of no use to Wayne whatsoever. Sorry for the rambling post, but please keep trying to find "the middle ground" where everyone can benefit from the knowledge that is so obviously present in this sites members.
options are 1. bass goes to compressor goes to input on bass. with the tuner on the preamp out of the amp. 2. bass into amp, effects loop to the compressor with the tuner on the preamp out. It depends on the amp, if the effects loop is in parallel then you will have a clean and compressed signal running which will make the compressor kinda pointless. If its in series then it would work better. What model of amp is it? Archetype
"tuner on the preamp out of the amp?" "effects loop?" "tuner on the preamp out?" "if the effects loop is in parallel, then you would have a clean and compressed signal.....?" It sounds VERY impressive, but what does it all mean? You have absolutely no idea how thick I feel, when I don't have a CLUE what you're talking about, do you?
Cheers buddy but I'll be honest I didn't understand any of that I'm starting to regret buying tbh.
I've been using a 3630 for the last 7 years, and I didn't understand it either. Do what I did Wayne-take it into a spare bedroom and plug things into things until it does what you want. It must be a resilient unit, because I haven't been able to blow it up yet.
