1. Just in case...You don't fancy a swap for a Yamaha BB424X by any chance? My arthritis is playing funny buggers, and it's a bit too heavy for my shoulder nowadays.

5. I suppose it all depends on the type of clientele the Dog and Duck gets on Band Nights. Round these here parts, most of the audiences are pretty knowledgeable about their Music, and there are a surfeit of excellent Bands on the 'circuit'. If you make the effort to stand out from the crowd, it gives Landlords and Punters alike something 'extra' to remember you by, and it doesn't cost a lot either. A while ago, the Band I was in were searching for a 'look' to take on the road, and Asda came to the rescue! The Wife told me they had a Sale on, so for the massive sum of £24, we bought 4 black t-shirts and 4 black vests. We wore the t-shirts for the First Set, along with black jeans that we all owned, and vests for the Second. At our second gig, the Landlord came up to us and said it was excellent that we had made the effort to look like a Band, said we had a Professional look about us, and gave us another 3 gigs for the rest of the year. (With a bigger fee, I might add.) Word spread, the money went up, Gigs came rolling in, and all on the strength of a daft 'uniform'. I suppose the fact that we could play well might have helped a bit though.
6. Just bought some Squire Electronics from Den, and it seemed like they were delivered to my house before I had chance to draw breath! To rip off an old eBay saying - "Deal With Confidence. 5* "
7.
on a fretless, (with markers) do they put the markers in the middle of where the fret would be, or where the actual note is?
Both. It tends to vary from Manufacturer to Manufacturer, or even Luthier to Luthier. You have to ask, or find out yourself, when buying.
8.
Have you heard much of a watering hole 'The Schooner' Al? Luckily, Berb and the boys in the band will make it easy on Saturday... I hope!
Funnily enough, a mate of mine has just posted some photo's of a gig there on farcebook, and apparently the audience were "well up for it!" The 'stage' area seems a bit small, but you should get your sylph-like figure tucked in a corner without any problem.
9. "Johnny The Dep" to the rescue, mate. You'll do it all perfectly, and don't worry - Adrenaline's brown.....
10. Truss Rod Cover.
11. Stick the scratchplate under a pile of heavy books, and return to it in 17 years! (Should actually only take a few weeks) Immerse chrome bits in Coke (pop not white powder) until they look better, rinse in clean water and buff till pretty. .....and welcome to the site.
12. They seem to have become 'fashionable' again. I sold mine for £100 a couple of years ago, and the lad who bought it off me has just sold it on for £400.
13.
Well it must sound rubbish then!
I'm glad someone else thinks so, but I wasn't going to be the first to say it!
14. 15 years old, with a 30 watt Fenton-Weill Combo to my name, and I had just been offered a job with my Dad's Dance Band. Off we went to the showroom in Newton Aycliffe, where he signed as Guarantor for a Selmer Treble/n/Bass 100 watt Amp and a Selmer Goliath 15" Cab. £90 for the Amp and £80 for the Cab. I was out that regularly, I managed to pay the bill off in three months.
15. It looks like someone started to peel the Fablon off, then got bored half-way.
16.
Where does it say that?
In the Q & A bit.
17.
old Tone was a bit of a knob
There's no need to write anything else...
18. It was good enough for Andy Fraser, and apparently, he's a "real" Bassist!
19. Well worth the money. Have you seen the Original Case and "Outstanding Patina"? Apparently there are creams for that nowadays.
20.
Well - he dropped the price to £75 so I had no choice. Bought it. And so it begins again... J.
You, young man, are incorrigible. Nice one!
21.
Damn, I would like a cheap fretless. But this is a bit too far for me to go. http://cgi.ebay.co.u...atchlink:top:en (And of course, the sale price might not be cheap. But it's a HB which don't seem to actually sell for much and it's a 99p start).
Thanks for the heads up on this. I've stuck a tentative bid on it, just in case. Well, seeing as I live in the same town, it'd be silly not to, wouldn't it?
22.
Uk voltage? I'm interested.
Take his fingers off at that price! The Wife bought me one of these as a surprise last year, knowing I needed a back-up amp, and after trying it, I've used it as my main amp ever since.
