I'm looking for a bridge for a vintage VI I'm going to restore. Any help would be greatly appreciated, topic here

A befriended percussionist told me a while back he has an old Fender Bass VI at home that needs restoration. I offered to do that for him, and he sent me a few pics. The first thing that struck me was the missing bridge; does anyone know if a "regular" Mustang bridge will fit? I'm picking it up tonight, so updates about year, state and the likes to follow

Oof, that's a nice trio you got there.

I got the 54 in for reviewing for De Bassist (Dutch Bass magazine), very excited. It certainly looks the part.

Well, the BC Rich Widow is pretty symmetrical...

Took the Acoustic I bought at a thrift shop for €50 out for a gig for the first time this week. Boy, is this absolutely amazing. What an amp. Heavy, though. But great.

I'll sure look out for a blocked fretboard bass from 1962

So I was visiting the thrift shop near my house, I do find some cool stuff there now and then (record player, NAD amplifier) and behold: there was a vintage Acoustic 118 combo there. A bit dusty, but it works perfectly, there was some dust in the pots as well but I had that out with a vacuum cleaner and some knob turning. It sounds absolutely killer! It has that typical Acoustic compressed solid state sound, very tight and an awesome combination with my fretless Jazz. It does remind a bit of Jaco's sound through his 360 amp
Best of all: it was only 50 euros!- 12

No luck yet, but today I saw the case for the Guild Starfire bass. Does anyone know if that'll fit?

The first fretless I ever played. In amber. It was totally awesome. I had a fretted one later, and a fretless older one a few years after that. Brilliantly built basses.

I think Sander can probably provide you with that

That is a killer collection. Love the Foderas. Great to see a fellow dots+binding on a Soulmate enthousiast. Fun fact: my Soulmate was the first with dots + binding (and the first De Gier ever with lollipops AFAIK), and my Bebop was the first De Gier bass ever with dots + binding. Great to see it caught on😁

Both my short scales go "fomp":

I rarely play gigs with an amp anymore, but last Tuesday it was time for it again. What a sound. Awesome stuff.

Here's some visual confirmation of an EB-2 inside an Epiphone Jack Casady hard case:

As expected because the EB-2 is short scale and the JC is long scale there's a bit of a gap at the head end, but the body looks snug enough and the neck is still supported.
There are gigbags which fit such basses, but I would think that a hard case would be more appropriate for a older instrument like this, and I suspect that's how you feel also.
Thanks! I was checking out the JCS case but they seem pretty impossible to find anywhere. I do prefer a proper gigbag though, also for my vintage Fenders

So I just bought a vintage Gibson EB2 which is absolutely killer, but it doesn't fit in a regular gigbag (of course). It came in a non-original hardcase which is meant for a long scale acoustic bass, and doesn't exactly fit.
Any ideas where to get a (affordable) case or bag for this classic bass, which gives it the protection and neck support it needs? I read things about the Jack Casady case, would that work (also with the neck support)? -
Question for you Gibson aficionados: when did Gibson introduce the string mute on the EB-2?
Bridge for vintage Bass VI

Well, a bridge that is as vintage as possible would be great. I know the Staytrem bridges have a waiting time of at least 12 weeks, and Mastery is great but not very vintage. If that's the only option however, it is what it is.
