I heard this a few weeks ago and although I like the idea of a bass and guitar show at the same time, but there's one major downside: it's in the exact same weekend as the Guitar Summit in Mannheim. I wonder how many companies will pick Mannheim and how many will pick London, especially after the B-word hits the fan.

Just put the previous body of my Dingwall up for sale. No idea if the price is right, but hopefully it'll sell quickly

So when I ordered my Dingwall it came with this body. Unfortunately it came a bit damaged, it probably sustained some impact during shipping. Damage isn't big but for me it was enough for Dingwall to offer me a replacement body, and having two Dingwall bodies is not something I really need It's suitable for 2 or 3 pickups, as is common for Combustion and NG basses Shipping no problem, costs are for the buyer. Local pickup (Amsterdam) is also an option, coffe, whisky or beer included! I have no idea what to ask for it, so make me an offer I can't refuse. £200 is an estimate. No trades please. -
Made an appointment for my second tattoo. I'm already nervous but also can't wait.

The only tattoo I'd have is one in Ink and Braille that says "Get your filthy hands off of my dirty ar5e ya perve!". I'd have one on each buttock for full protection from drunken females.
(I got groped once by ladies outside a club once when bending over to take my 'bike lock off. They were pi55ed as newts and it was a real passion killer. One of the hazards of wearing full leathers that I don't miss.)

It seems FedEx found my bass body yesterday without noticing me. It was in Memphis all along, and it's supposed to be delivered today. They just e-mailed me "out for delivery", no call, nothing. Thanks FedEx.

TBH it was more a cool restoration project for me, it was white and the neck was made by the same guy that did my P. All that added together gave me the impulse to try and get it. In hindsight you guys might be right It still feels like a cool think to have for me, but then an original one.

Nah, the guy was at my house when I checked it and he agreed on 750. I honestly believe someone offered him 1000 euros. I think the chances that the buyer will pull out are very small. The neck on this bass is amazing.

Spoke to FedEx on the phone. They asked me if it would be a possibility that Dingwall sends me a replacement body. They actually asked it.

The difficult bit is a pickguard. They seem hard to find (or I have to get them from the States which could turn out pretty darn expensive). EDIT: Celebrated a bit too early. The dude said yes and then somebody added €250 to the price. Well, I'm not paying €1000 for it. So bad luck.

Well, I checked the bass today. It's not a '69, it's a '72. The neck (including tuners, frets and neck plate) is 100% original. So are the finish (which is a lot prettier in real life), the bridge and the control plate. The pickup, pickguard and pots are replacements and they haven't been very subtle in putting them in. The soldering on the pots is sloppy, the cavity for the pickup is kinda ugly and the knobs are hídeous. Looking through that, however, it has some real potential. It plays great. The original shielding copper plates are still there. I want to buy it (depending on the price) and reinstate its beauty. Cool detail: this mr. Torres (who was an employee at Fender in the late 60's and 70's) made the neck on this bass. He also made the neck on my '71 Precision.

Hahah no worries The finish looks awful and especially the pickguard is terrible. Looks like wood fibre to me too.

So there's a '69 Mustang on a Dutch website and the guy asks way too much money for it. So I sent him an e-mail and he's coming to my house tomorrow to determine how original it is, and what it's worth. There are only 2 pics, one of which is the headstock (looks legit from the picture) and then there's this one, of the whole bass:

And it gets even worse worse. FedEx just called me, left a message: FedEx Netherlands has confirmed that they’ve shipped the body to the States, but after the departure scan in France there has been no scan or progress, and neither the American nor French FedEx branches have an idea where the body might be. She told me that’s she’s now officially started a search (after a week and a half). FedEx Canada has to get in touch with Dingwall to get a description of the package so they know what to look for. Let’s hope this ends well.

Yep, FedEx has lost my body. They have no clue where it could be. Somewhere between Paris and...the rest of the planet.
