1. Got my Fender fretless in 2003 and have had it ever since. I did buy my Yamaha in '01 but didn't own it for a few months a couple of years ago. But I got it back. Does that count?
2. A good preamp or an octaver.
3. I used one at my graduation concert, on a 5-string with high C in an alternate tuning (can't remember what it was ) to play a James Vincent McMorrow song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtmYzr4pcD0
4. As I got the T-Rex today and my Wah Board broke because I tried to move it (stupid thing) it now looks like this:
5. It's amazing.
6. I have three main rigs, always using my Eich amp. Cover band: Jazz and related: Old school (rock, soul etc):
7. That's exactly what the sticker looks like
8. Here's a sloppy demo of what it sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXIYKUw9eF8
9. Ehehehe I know, I was surprised to I just found a couple of stickers. -One says "made in Korea" (so there's a mystery solved) -On the neckplate is "H-80" -And there is a "inspected by" sticker. I'm thinking it might be an old Harmony, I can find guitars with the same neck joint and strap button on the heel of the neck, but I can't find an H-80 bass. That was a Strat type guitar.
10. It's a .105, probably to big but it was the only E-string I had lying around there.
11. It didn't fit through the hole in the bridge... I tried to ram it through but that didn't work.
12. I don't think kits existed in the 70s
13. So I work at this secondary school and we have a couple of basses. Some are pretty decent (SX Jazz is amazing for the price) and some are terrible. And then there's this one: I guess it's from the 70's, it's shortscale and it has a laminated body. Really, it consists of layers of wood. But what is it? Hondo? It sounds pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty ok.
14. Now I have been a pro bassist for a few years now but am only just discovering the world of recording things other than myself. I recently recorded the demo for my reggae band (check it out here), and a month ago I played a theatre festival here in Holland with a friend of mine. We got quite a few requests for recording the songs that were in the show, so we did I recorded the grand piano, played and recorded all guitar and bass parts ánd almost all backings. Especially the grand piano was a big "first" for me, and I think it worked out pretty okay. Check it out on Spotify here! It's in Dutch, so I guess I can only ask most of you to listen to the bass and guitar sounds On the "Horecalied" you hear my Fender Bass VI, '72 Precision and LAG acoustic guitar. "Mannen Die Drinken" features my Squier Jazzmaster and '72 Precision, and on "Oscar" I used my De Gier Bebop 5 and Squier Jazzmaster. All bass parts recorded through the DI of my Eich T-500 head.
15.
Altars of madness - morbid Angel. Some light relief from teaching
I'm going to see them live in two months, gonna be my first time.
16. Got this on vinyl last week and I had my amplifier fixed so playing it right now. What an amazing dub record. Love it.

Jazz

Or get Sander de Gier to build you one
18. For that price, get a Bass Station. The Minitaur sounds great but I think a huge downside is the fact that you can't see what preset you're working with. And you need a good midi keyboard to work with I have a Moog Sub Phatty which is heavier, sounds better and feels more solid than the Bass Station, but it's a lot more expensive as well
19. Wow, that looks amazing! Funny to see that shrunken pickguard at the lower horn. My '66 Jazz has exactly the same piece broken off.
20. BassAgent

Jazz

I used to have five but I have owned four for the last few years and I only miss some 70's kinda Jazz. Still. Not too much to complain about.
21. So here's a clip of June last year with my fretless. I believe this was before I had Lollar pickups installed.
22. I like my '72.
23. And although we mostly play our own pieces, we do sometimes play a cover. Here we did a Miles Davis classic. I'd love to embed it but it's a Facebook vid so sorry
24. And I love it, somehow. I was looking for a reverb and a friend of mine had one and I got it for free But I can't really figure out...what it is. It's not a reverb and it's not a proper delay, can someone explain to me how the sound works? It sound like it's a delay where every next delay is closer to the previous one. Very spacy. I recorded a sample: https://soundcloud.com/hidderoorda/reverb
25. So I've had this reggae band for a short while now. A lot of firsts for me: first time I've played guitar in a band, done lead vocals, recorded, mixed ánd mastered the demo. I wonder what you guys think. We've recorded for songs we really like and are working on our own material ATM. If you have tips of advices concerning mixing or mastering after listening, please feel free to give them. Check it on Soundcloud.
