2. I am in doubt. I maybe want to have Nordstrand Dual Coils (or Fat Stacks) in my bass instead of Seymour Duncan Basslines, because I think I can get more out of the bass with Nordstrands. Problem is: they cost me about £200 extra and I don't know if they'll fit one-on-one.

    What would you guys do?

  3.
Lovely looking bass. I love the look of their 'Henzelli' bass. What kind of prices do their basses sell for?
It depends completely on what you want. If you want a Primo like mine, think of prices in the range of about £1500. But they're absolutely worth it :)

The Henzelli is great as well. I think the looks are something you really have to get used to, but it sounds and plays so awesome!

  4. I already own a Cobelens & de Bruyne Primo bass:

Maple body, merbau top, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Seymour Duncan Basslines soapbars, Aguilar OBP-3 preamp.

But because of some things I didn't like (size, weight and neck size) they're building a new bass for me. It's going to have an ash body, spalted birch top, maple/wengé/greenheart neck, ebony fretboard, SD Basslines and Aguilar OBP-3. It's in progress at the moment, and I hope it's finished by Christmas.

What do you think of the bass? I've noticed about half of the people find it ugly, and half think it's stunning. I think it's absolutely wonderful :)

  5. I have a signed Tower Of Power setlist, a Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra setlist and a NOFX setlist (and an El Hefe plectrum). But what I like most is Marcus Miller's signature on my bass. He gave a masterclass at the conservatory where I study. I knew the guy who had organized the whole thing. Marcus seemed to have had some problems at the Dutch customs with his bass, so it hadn't arrived yet. The organizing guy game running to me: "Do you have a bass with you?!" "Yes, why?" "Is it a Jazz Bass?" "Yeah, it's my Blade. Why?" "Can Marcus borrow it?" "Errr...sure!"

He didn't use it... he could borrow another bass that was a Fender, he told me afterwards, and since he didn't know Blade he used the Fender. So, of course, I said: "Do you want to have a go on it now?" And he said: "Yeah, of course!" He really digged the bass :)

And I made him sign it:

  6. Unfortunately, nothing seems to work... One of the washers has decided to break in half and the rest of the tuners aren't what they're supposed to be...

However, I don't know what tuners to buy. Hipshot? Schaller? Gotoh? And if so, which types fit my bass? I've heard that Yamaha hardware is regularly "it just doesn't really fit", just like IKEA. I know you can buy parts at Yamaha, but aren't they super duper expensive?

  7. The tuner of the D-string on my Yamaha TRB seems to have broken down, all of a sudden (I really don't have a clue what happened, I didn't touch it except to tune it).

It's supposed to look like this (it's the G-string):

    But it looks like this:

Do you guys know a solution? Or do I have to buy new tuners?

  8. I want to make a pedal case for my pedals. I only have a few (5) so it only has to be small.
These are my effects. The OC-2 is a temporary substitute for the EHX Dr. Q. that is on its way.

So it really needs to be small. I was looking at the DAP Showmaster 24 case:

This is the big version, but there is a smaller version of this case.

I was wondering if there is a cheaper alternative to this solution. The DAP case costs about £45,-, but if it can be cheaper :)

  9. I had one of those.

It was from 1988. At the time indeed one of the cheaper basses by Yamaha, but they're still amazing instruments!

The buzz might be coming from a screw or something. Try holding some parts while the bass is buzzing.
