1. Up for sale is my beautiful Pedulla Thunderbolt 5. I acquired this bass as a trade about a year ago from Eubassix and I have used it predominantly for shows where its sound has been much admired. It has a very unique sound - sweet and very refined at the top but with a retro kind of 80's studio honky sound at the mid and bottom. (hope that makes sense!) I really don't want to part with it but I now have a Ken Smith and don't really need a second fretted bass at the moment. Trust me, theres not a lot between them though. Specs-wise its quite simple with volume, pan and tone controls and the 'thunderguts switch' which seems to just boost the active signal. The neck feels great and the bass was recently set up by John at the Gallery. Details of the bass can also be found on: http://www.pedulla.c...hunderbolt.html http://www.pedulla.c...hunderbolt.html I include some very artistic photos taken by Eubassix and the instrument hasn't changed. Its a 1997 model and has some buckle surface scratches at the back but no obvious dings etc. The front looks perfect. SOLD. The bass comes with a road worn but perfectly serviceable hardcase and the special trussrod. I loathe to ship such a valuable and unique instrument so would prefer the buyer to collect or perhaps we could organise something. I recently sold a Stingray and met the guy just outside the M25. No trades - if I needed two fretted basses I would keep this one! I'd be quick. Once my bank balance is healthier she's coming off, thats for sure! Cheers, D
2. Didn't get it?!?!? Contact me asap.
3. I'm going to do three more bumps then I'm whacking on frets and keeping her!
4. Thanks mate. I've now had a few pms and people are putting it on their wishlist. Its like chain selling on here!
5. I have a super padded 7/8 size Tom & Will case with wheels in almost new condition but you'd really need to collect it from London as it would be a nightmare to post. £100 would do.
6. Thanks Chris! (I was beginning to wonder why no-one liked her!)

I've recently got my hands on one of the GWB105 Korean Gary Willis basses and although the Stingray is obviously a more refined and superior bass, the Willis does the job for the time being. I was all set to get Martin at the Gallery to add frets, but a colleague of mine is selling a fretted Ken Smith so I'm trying to raise funds. As such I'm pricing this to sell at XXXXXX. Retail was in the upper £2k mark so should you want to buy this to convert into a fretted bass, you're still going to get a bargain. The only difference between this and the original fretted is that the fretless has a Pau Ferro fingerboard. However, whats wrong with having an amazing fretless anyway?!? Do please feel free to contact me with any questions. There's also some youtube clips of the fretted version knocking around and if you google the model, you'll see a particularly glowing review. The bass comes with an equally pristine bespoke hardcase. It currently resides in London. For trades I'd be interested in: Ken Smith bolt-on 5 string Ken Smith thru 5 string (plus cash to you) Decent European made double bass Ibanez Promethean P5110 (plus cash to me) Merry Christmas everyone!
8. Yes, sorry, it was sold about two months ago. I completely forgot about this thread... I know Bill at Thwaites has another one going for around £15K. And theres some very tasty basses currently on www.musicalchairs.info
9. Hi all, I recently bought a fishman platinum pro EQ preamp on Ebay for £100 thinking it was the bass one. It isn't although I'm guessing you can still use it as such, particularly if you play acoustic bass guitar. Obviously, any guitarists will be delighted with this serious bit of kit. However, being a pro player, I do need the bass one so as such I am offering it up for resale. Its in excellent condition with the box and manuals etc. Ideally, I would like what I paid for it but would be willing to take a little hit if needs be (sob). Best, Damon
10. Replied. Sold pending.
11. So sorry guys, I've been very busy and haven't been keeping an eye on this. The wheel is now sold but the bassmax is still available. Best, Damon
12. Bassmax - used but less than a year old and has the box with instructions £70 delivered Cheers! Damon
13. I have a fretless 5 Stingray 20th anniversary. Double humbucker, california sunburst and mint condition. I'm guessing you'd want to fret the thing and I in turn would need to pull the frets out of your Ped to replace it. I can send photos if you're interested. D
14. I have a bassmax which I could let go for £70 (in two weeks time!)
15. If you look at www.musicalchairs.info you'll see a Wilfer going for £5,800 'for a quick sale'. Daf, you're selling it too cheap!
16. bump
17. BASS SOLD! For sale is my Hawkes 'Concert' model double bass labelled 1925. It is with much deliberation that I have decided to sell this highly sought after instrument, but I'm needing to upgrade and can't justify having this as a second bass. With original varnish (making it more valuable) it is in very good condition for the age. The table and back are excellent with no nasty repairs/cracks but it has a few war wounds to the ribs which is typical of a workhorse of this age. The bass was restored and fitted with a C extension in 2007 by Malcolm Healey and has also subsequently been worked on by Roger Dawson (bridge/setup). It currently has Evahs GDA and a permanent 'room rattling' bottom C. Anyone who knows these instruments knows that they are LOUD! I have played this particular instrument with the Royal Philharmonic Orch, the Brighton Phil and New London Sinfonia and it is a beastial orchestral bass. Jazzers will also not be disappointed as the pizz is huge! LOB (length of back) - 111.5cm (43.80in) Width across upper bouts - 56.9cm (22.40in) Width across middle bouts - 40.6cm (15.95in) Width across lower bouts - 68.2cm (26.85in) Depth of lower ribs inc both plates- 23.2cm (9.16in) Body Stop - 60.7cm (23.85in) String length - 105.8cm (41.65in) From an investment point of view, this bass model cost around £22 back in 1925 and The Contrabasse Shoppe currently has the same (albeit in better condition) for sale at £25,000. I am pricing this to sell at £15,000. It is currently residing at Thwaites and please ring Bill for a viewing. Do please feel free to PM me with any questions. Cheers!
