1. EPIC WANT. Bump for an awesome bass (even though it's right at the top ) Wouldn't be able to afford this for months even at this 2nd hand price (great deal and great condition!) even if i got a job and worked for a year probably
 2. I'm kind of worried, as at the AECC people do stupid things and go crazy and 'mosh' etc all the time for no reason and basically ignore the music! And that is somethign Maiden HATE BUT i know the music will be great! Just listened to the whole new album again So happy and excited!
 3.
Will see you there dude! Also a mate of mine has 3 tickets to sell if you've any mates who want to go. PM me and i'll pass details on (since i don't know them yet!)
Awesome! Hopefully see you around, (probably not going to recognise as, well obviously haha) Thanks! I'll ask around! SO EXCITED! My brother has seen them twice, and everytime i see live videos i get giddy Going with my brother as me mum insisted i be safe but ah well! Should be great!
 4. Hey Guys! I'm seeing Iron Maiden in my home city of Aberdeen on Thursday! I'm stupidly excited like a small kid on christmas, i've barely slept in the last few days, though i'm forcing myself too so i can fully enjoy the show! I've been wanting to Iron Maiden for about 3/4 years since i really got into them and when my brother saw them and he told me about the show, I've watched so many live clips, and Flight 666 about 10 times and i'm stupidly excited! Sorry to waste space with this, but i've been wanting to see them so much Steve harris is one of the main reasons i play bass, if not the strongest reason for me picking it up instead of guitar! Anyone seen them on this tour? (i've probably missed a thread on this BUT hey don't tread on my moment ) Probably won't get any pictures or anything but i'll have a great time i can promise you! I'm hanging around town tomorrow/thursday to meet them as it would pretty much make my year!
 5.
well the bartolinis i have just now are active and as of late i`ve realised bartolini isn`t the sound im wanting ive heard some clips of the kent armstrongs pups (which are passive) wired without an internal preamp and on their own they sound ridiculously good ill stick up some pics of the bass before i start drilling etc thanks
Link to those Kent Armstrong pickup clips? Sounds like a nice "mod" diary! Any chance of any sound clips now for a before and after? I'll be keeping a close eye on this!
 6.
thanks alot man, nice to see it went well, would love to hear how it sounded and see it in action but oh well thanks
I was gonna buy it! But i have no money, and i'd rather have a GTBD-7 / Get a custom built 7 He hasn't been on in a while, but there are some sound clips up somewhere, though they may have been taken down?
 7.
Steve Vai at the Astoria 2001 (?)
Billys singing and playing on the opener is KILLER. I can play the whole bass part (the verse is actually dead simple, but my word is the backing part to the solo hard!) one of my favourite live things, of all time! That plus 2009 Back to Budokan, meant alot to me and i saw the london 12th september show the day before my birthday! Muse HAARP, and a few more but i can't remember names off the top of my head!
 8.
Thanks for the nice words about the book guys. You won't be able to get this book on Amazon. Amazon will list anything with a barcode and claim they can get it from you, but at the end of the day, they have to order it from me! As they take all of the profit out of any sales made through them, I chose not to supply them. The book is only available via www.basslinepublishing.com. I am currently working on the e-book version, which you will be able to get on iBooks, kindle etc in the near future. There is an e-book version on Kindle at the moment, but it is not quite perfect and I will be replacing it this week. Stuart
Hey Stuart! When will the John Entwistle book be back? Also, rather tempted to get the solo arrangements one just so i can get the Space dyed vest one on your site
 9. Hows the tone in comparision to your Peavey grind? (as i've messed around for a bit on a grind so might be able to conceptualise the tone of the shine )
 10.
What ever happened with this?
Well 3 years on quite a bit haha, He did it all, and then put it up for sale a few months ago, not sure if it sold or not and i think i may have been de-fretted? Or someone suggested he try that anyway! Try a search as it was up for sale!

+1 haha! Edit: There you go, as i'm such a nice guy http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=Conklin
 11. I'd say it was worth it ONLY if it would get it just the way you wanted and it would be a long term keeper, selling it on there is no way you'd make a profit, and even if you did it would be small (I think so anyway! Could be wrong,) Though doing it up to sell on and spending over the orginal cost of the bass? Too much i think!
 12. Maybe something with a tube in it like the EBS valve drive? Would keep warmth and would be able to add small smudges of drive
 13. Anyone got any clips or sound bites or videos of one of these in action? I really went off the ampeg sound for a while but this might draw me back in...
 14. 15.
I'm a teenager
How (the gear not the age ) I've heard your band before i think!
 16.
But could it not also be a fact that the Wal can do precision tone?
I think this may have been overlooked?
 17.
Thanks, I appreciate it and give us a link to your bass track, I'll point Alberto to it, after all he is a member of this forum too.
I will as soon as it's finished thanks GW, though i'm having trouble working it all out but hopefully it's right
 18.
Well he promised to visit London and I have offered to have him as a gues, but it just hasn't happened yet. Besides, right now I have some serious home issues to deal with after my gf's passing.
Ah well, he should be judging my bass track for a Twinspirits contest next month! And my deepest condolenses my friend, it must be hard so all my best to you and her family
 19. I've seen Yamaha's own brand strings for sale once or twice before (though i think they are from a while ago!) but, the strings from my Yamaha Attitude and the new BB424 i played both had Nickel strings from the factory? Maybe they were one off for the period of time or something, but totally checking out the D'addario Prosteels as i loved those strings!
 20. As pleased as i am for you, this reminds me that i never win anything haha Hope you're enjoying that beast!
 21. Just bought Toms Line6 UX1, great guy, great communication and item recieved in no time at all! Buy in confidence!
 22. Will the Bongo prices rise (or have they risen) due the increased price of Neodymium or have they changed the pickup magnets?
 23.
Rever 42 and all that srap bass praying??
I'm 1/8th chinese and i can play level 42 tunes without putting on a sterotype funny accent, but hey what ever works for you mate
 24. 5 to 10 minutes aday, go over the stave in and say each note, then read a simple piece of music and do the same As you get better with that you can do more complex music, and start adding times the after a few weeks there you go! Thats how i learn new clefs (been reading music from the bass clef since i was 7 so about 55% of my life and treble on and off, but i can know read tenor, alto and the Subbass clef and kind of the Baritone clef as thats what i'm currently learning! )
 25. For really long pieces or Multiple pieces printed end to end i tend to tape the edges together (end to end not all together!) or make a kind of booklet style thing After playing several 50+ pages of classical music it's seems quite easy now (after many MANY years or practise and failed attempts!)
