AttitudeCastle replied to Grand Wazoo's topic in Recording
More great stuff from Alberto! Wasn't he staying with you GW? Or is that happening at a later date? -
I played a full sized squier P from age 10 or so, and i was quiet a small lad too, Really helped my playing i think and built my guns too
-
Post a soundclip when you can with your warwick! Must sound killer!
Thanks for that. Didn't realise Mr Wyman used fretless back then. Some familiar names and some I haven't heard before. Cheers for that!
Yep! I think maybe for only one album but he defo recorded with one can't rememember which album though
I think the fact that I'm pleased that there's more people saying "sell it!" now should be telling me something! I guess if I had the money to buy whatever basses I wanted I would keep it, but I'm leaning more towards selling it at the moment........
If you think you will gain more from selling it and getting something new then sell it though if your unsure or think you might not (taking sentimentality into account!) don't sell it

Les Claypool is sure to get a shout before too long! (though he is famous fo using a fretless 6 string, his favourite bass was his 4 string fretted!) Steve DiGiorgio as well, Juan Alderete has used a fretless jazz bass in and out with the mars volta, Gary Willis jumps to mind (Tribal tech), as does Jonas Hellborg, Jack Bruce, Bill Wyman from the older Rolling Stones stuff, Tony Levin, Jeroen Paul Thesseling (from Obscura) and Colin Edwin from Porcupine tree Are all the ones i can think off (which is MANY more than i thought i knew! tempted by a fretless now! haha) Mostly rocky/heavier people there
If you're a big soppy git then keep it. I have a bass that I think I will never sell, but it's not because I'm a big soppy git, it's because of how it plays and sounds. I don't really understand people who hang on to stuff they don't want or need any more just for the sake of having it. Those people end up with crowded lofts and cupboards. And I imagine their houses burn down a lot faster.
For me my 4 strings (my first bass, and my Attitude) i keep fro 1) Tonal reasons! 2) For all my rocking out with rock and punk bands and 3) for sentimental reasons, The attitude is like an old friend to me, i know alot of people don't get that and i understand that! But if it were stolen or something it would be like loosing a friend to me,
Nope - think it's all the ATT3 now....not currently an option at nearly £2500! I'll keep my eyes peeled...let me know if you see any around.
Will do my man! Thats what i feared I adore the ATT LTD II and the wonderful Lava red colour is comes/came in Though the ATT III does look a step up, though Billy has already modded his with a covered version of the neck pickup/new all black version and the neck joint and wood treating is interesting! Though i like the blue, i miss the red and green Pretty much covers my 4 string GAS Yamaha does!
Did find one, but it was in Italy.....think i'll wait for one in the UK...i'm sure one of you guys will get bored with yours soon :-) Happy Bassing all Graeme
Not a chance mate haha! My Seafoam green attitude means so much to me, sentimentally, and it was a gift to me! AND it's one of the anniversary limited edition ones xD I'd rather sell both kidneys than my Attitude haha You'll get one though if you don't mind ones in black, as they crop up on here every now and then (though i as a rule bar one or two never own or play black basses just because i'm funneh like that ) Are the ATT LTD II's still in production? I'm not 100% sure they are =S
Have only had a chance to noodle at home on mine, but am loving the whole feel of the bass. Just now waiting for an Att2 to come up used....cash is waiting if anyone is tempted? :-) I look forward to using it 'in anger' at a couple of gigs next month. Cheers all Graeme
They only seem to go for about £500-£600 second hand which is an INSANE deal/real shame much like warwicks, so hopefully you'll get one! Alot of people buy one as a Sheehan wannabe thinking it will built their chops or something! I just love parts of his tone which is why i love mine (and it feels soooo good to play!) Best of luck man!

If it really means something to you, don't sell it! There is no "point" in sentimentality, but it makes us who we are!
I sold mine about a year ago, it certainly was a used beast but had Dimarzio Blade pups and original Dimarzio Woofer, sounded great but played so so well, I wished I never sold it for so low, think I sold it for £200 mind you I do own 2 original Attitude II's
I've always wanted one with a pearloid neck pickup cover, and a red Attitude II (i've got a sea foam green one too ) I usually don't get on with many 4 string necks, but the Attitude neck sits nicely in my hand
..and i've seen the condition they were in too.. :-) One had holes drilled all over it and was extremely reliced, another needed some serious cleansing and had parts missing. Very happy with mine - it's a cracker. If you see any more going that cheap, please tell me, i'll buy another any day for that money. Cheers Graeme ps...you a Mr Big fan? You off to see them on tour?
They were in decnet nick, the one which went locally pained me so much as it was almost mint but i was completely broke And i'm a MASSIVE Mr Big fan Didn't manage to see them though I wanted to go to download but was occupied that week, saw them on the comeback tour in 2009 in london and i've been dying to see them again! People always say its odd i'm a Mr Big fan, considering To be with you was a hit in 1992/1993 2/3 years before i was born! Also, if i see a cheap one you'll have to beat me too it I adore my Attitude, there is little i'd change about it!

Tuners that can handle 5/6 string
AttitudeCastle replied to Cannibal's topic in Accessories and Misc
I have a BOSS TU-2 and it Can handle the Low B easy maybe not as accurately as the E string up, but its still close and in tune! I've tuned down to F# with the TU-2 and it was fine, It's also built like a tank! -
Yamaha TRB5PII - should I or shouldn't I?
AttitudeCastle replied to Bassonata's topic in Bass Guitars
Heck, thanks everybody for the input. Seems like this is one good example of how it should be done. Or was. I've just read on TalkBass that production may actually have been withdrawn, though the only real hint of this I can find is on Yamaha's Canadian website which does indeed show it as 'Discontinued'. So I guess they may have either stopped making these, or are no longer producing enough to export globally. Maybe a reflection of the effects of the tsumani... or the global economy...? What a shame.
I think Yamaha are re-vamping their bass gear (albeit at a very very slow pace!) I was told a new RBX has been in the works since the 774 and 775 were discontinued all those years ago! And the TRB1000s were discontinued and brought back as the TRB1000Js with a 3 piece neck instead of a one piece neck So it could be they are having a little over look and being changed spec wise slightly! -
I played a Big Al and a Bongo back to back (4 strings) and tonally prefered the Bongo (this was an HH and an HS ie i played two bongos!) but i didn't like the neck so put me off a little Though i don't really like Single coils, though A single coil in the neck OR bridge position but not both i really rate which is probably why. I'd take up Monz on that and fine out for your self!
Very predictable, thankfully John Myung seems to have returned to the fold as you couldn't hear a bloody thing he was doing when he had those Yamahas! The song itself was nothing special though, the same proggy riffs and irritating keys solos that they've been pedalling for a while now.
You can hear him nicely on The Dance of Eternity and on Most of Octavarium (the album)
no secret, paid £300 inc case for mine. Very pleased. I think £200 is a bit low - not seen one of these go for under £300 for quite a while
I've seen two go for £200 to £250 in the last 18 months on here, and one for £230 locally a few months ago

How do you like the Line 6 UX2? I'm considering getting one as it comes with pretty much everything! Beening looking around for an interface/all in one stuff so i'd like to hear your thoughts! (As i've never liked Line 6 amps so was skeptical haha) Like the recordings man!
-
I've played one, loved it! Shame it wasn't for sale And i normally don't like EMGs or Semi-hollow bodies!
-
I'd e-mail or PM Alan from ACG he prefers setnecks to neckthrough or bolt-on he also prefers to make them and from the looks (and i'm sure any ACG owner who reads this will agree) the fret access is flawless i'd imagine right the way to the 24th + fret I prefer Neck through tonally, and the smoothness and feel of one piece of wood running into the body (A design like Doods 7 strings set-neck would be similar i would imagine!)
-
Anychance of a 6 string Elite/Deluxe or Artist by Batch 20? Heard nothing but good about these, not played one my self though!
They are all hosted on photobucket so aren't taking up BC space. Don't really want to talk money, it is pretty unlikely that I'll be keeping them all and I don't want people bringing it into it when I try and move them on.
I was kidding my man! And fair enough mate, was just a little curious, i'd be interested to see and hear the out come of this!
Im really very jealous of anyone who owns on of these basses! I love Yamaha basses and I am a big fan of Billy Sheehan too. Let us know what its like when you have had a chance to give it some nuts! I better start saving up if i want one of these one day
You can pick these up for around £200! The Attitude Specials that is,

Are you trying to single handedly undo [topic="126658"]this!?[/topic] Intresting thread, even with my lack of valve amp knowledge! If i may ask how much did the 9 amps cost in total?
