The Steel Leather is alright for clean tones but you can forget about using other effects (unless you like the sounds it gets with other pedals!) As it boosts certain top end frequenices is messed up my disortions as it was acting against them as it were still a good pedal if you play mostly clean!

Bass big muff used can be £30 or so! And that will nail Hysteria (but a bit fatter and less synthy) I wish i had a russian big muff! Its all down to what you want to use the OD/Fuzz/Distortion for!

Van probably caught in a pothole in the 'deen! Roads are mashed from the winter! I had a NBD not too long ago And i am hoping for a NAD (new AMP day not anything else...) and a NEPD (Effect pedal, so i don't seem a loon!) day ASAP

I play a BTB676 and LOVE it BUT i know many many who have tried it (a good few of them strictly 6+ string players) who hated it! SO liek said, try as many AS you can, here in scotland though basses are much rarer!

And I REALLY rate Rotosounds flats, only Flat wounds i'll ever use (I'm a round wound player mostly, which leads me too...) But also Billy Sheehans Signature set... most notable for Custom Guage E and G string in the set .110 and .43 But i found these have a more snarl and are treblier than the normal set and have an insane treble ZING for about a week till they are worn in Still Rotos normals sets are killer and the Artists are even better

You should play one if you can, maybe closer to your specs now!

Before 2005 i'd say they were probably 34" not sure though! If the string spacing IS 17mm then Yamaha has AGAIN made my dream bass haha!

Haha The LoMenzo only distorts the mids, the Drive plus Aka Hydrive only distorts the Higher frequencies/top end of the signal, its designed to sort of copy the set up John Entwistle had but in one box (though ask Garethox, its no substitute!) Am i the ONLY fan of neck dive? I quite like the feel, but not on some basses when its extreme where moving a finger from the neck sends it to 6'oclock!

Though the pickup is a bit wooly and only has one real sound, but swap the pickup and its a good versitile bass, the stock one is by no means bad though

(IMHO) The most skilled bass player who ever lived ever? Yamaha Attitudes aren't hugely common second hand but do come around! Not the easiest basses to play, most people don't like them, the tone or the neck! Yamaha make GREAT basses for the money. You *should* technically be able to get a Yamaha bass from any where which stocks anything Yamaha, the RBX170/270 and the 374 is great and the BBs are just as awesome! Definately with in your budget too the RBX170 defo is at least and will leave a good amount left for the rest
