1. If only there was a way to regulate users =S Its so annoying when people only go one once just to sell something or to post "Still for sale?" Or "PM'D" and thats it! Looks odd, and it'll be too heavy, and is too expensive might sound alright though,

3. The VU meter on the Ashdown amps is the best feautre on them IMHO!
4. Yeah i don't like the RB400 combo sounds, I usually have the Horn set very high and i like the sound of Neo speakers! And i love the GK sound i need something light weight! This amp seems too good to be true however! I would get a markbass, but i don't get on with the tome!
5.
Cool if it is, sounds like an awesome combo. If you get one, or try it out, I would love to hear a review.
No worries man! That was my plan! As there isn't much about it online, i would/will be uploading videos and a review xD
6.
Sounds cool, I love the tone of gb amps. Watch out though, it's 500w with an extention cab. Cheers Thebassman
Thats the 210 The 212 and 115 are 500 alone, I'm pretty sure!
7. Hey Guys! I'm interested in the Gallien Krueger MB combos, the MB212 to be exact! As i'm into 2x12s at the mo What can you tell me about them? Good? Bad? I can't find a whole lot on them, some people like them some don't! Hmmmm.... 500W at 37lbs (if my memory serves me right!) Other "reasonablely" (used loosely!) priced and Lightweight 2x12 prefereably combos, or Head and Cab suggestions! I was thinking GK as a bit of mid bump, a powerful EQ and buckets of Growl suits me just right! Many Thanks! AC
8. I say a Yammie 1006J, don't know if they are through neck but great basses, 5 piece neck, very playable will cover everything you mentioned and they looking awesome and are about £850-£900 new!
9.
That isn't a rumour, it's a fact. The action on my buzzard is 0.8mm at the 12th fret. It makes it so amazingly easy to play tapping and such like it's just brilliant. When I got it (September 2005) Rob Green had it set at about 3mm, which was just too high for me to do some of that stuff, so I got it lowered somewhat. My 8 string had to be lowered as that (when high) is a nightmare to play as it just cuts your left hand up something rotten pushing down 2 strings at a time. It's now so low I can do tapping on that as well. There are of course plus points for both schools of thought, as one of my mates just can't play any of my basses as the action is too low for him. By the same token I think his is much too high. Depends what you like.
Woah! Must be a dream to play!
10. Yeah the status graphite basses get mental low action! The B-1 Buzzard (anyone one here who has one confirm?) could get crazy low action, like down to 1mm is what i was told! Pub rumours and such like
11. A Bongo as a first bass? Jelousy!
12. I love mine, they are monster sounding, not much like the stock pickups, Shame i sold my MIM P with them in! Mine was Lake placid blue with a maple neck aswell! They are very boomy buckets of power VERY high output! Its a Dimarzio, its gonna be awesome Edit: Also, the blades means you can string bend to your hearts content, if i didn't sell my P-bass i would have probably scalloped the whole neck, gives a good thumpy shred sound xD Though the 21 frets with a chunky heel stopped some of my more exteme/ridiculous solos, which is why i sold it in the end =/
13. SIMS are good but very expensive! I'd say warmoth! Martain is a great guy, very nice and easy to talk too though if you go for Sims
14. Yamaha RBX-A5? They are really light yet still chunky and rock sounding! To my ears at least a friend of mine has one and they are great
15.
haha, you say that, but there's limited stock in the whole country. I've got to wait for my 2nd 410RBH to be shipped over even with the endorsement. I did spend a lot of time looking about though when I bought my 700 stack (which is for sale in the for sale section, /shameless promotion). I ended up buying the head and one cab from GAK (who gave me horrible service and I'd never use again) then got the 2nd cab from Thomann.
Haha! No offence meant btw Thom in case you took any =S Are GK amps really Single Voltage?? Might tilt me in my Hartke or GK rig dilemma haha, anyone shed any light on this?
16.
Must be in parallel for longer running time, it's not that greedy though anyway. 35" Yup, well my version has. The advertised one just has an active/passive, kinda killish. So seems a touch pot luck. If you get a good one in the first place. The finish definitely needs looking at, but I'd give it a go with the current pups, and see what you think of the pre-amp for a while. Actually, that's a good point. Most of it is decent to start with, so a nice project for a gradual upgrade. Thanks for the idea.
Thanks! and no worries Its just i have a thingy for Bartolinis, love 'em! And i borrowed a friends 5 string for a whiley for a job with a metal band, and all i could get with it was honkey and jazz tones, not my cuppa! Maybe it was just the wiring and such like and pre-amp etc It was like a warwick style with the two pups in the middle, Well if i get one it will probably be dmz's one, or one of the FLEbay depending on funds and what not
17. Thom is easy for you to get your hands on GK gear! We all have to trawl the net for the best deals and cheapest delivery and what not! Haha, Thanks though Thom! I'm thinking if looking at Soundlive, closest to me like
18.
No worries, here ya go. Just changed the random set of strings I got from local music store for some DA XLProsteels EPS170-6 super bright. That bottom has tightened right up. Padded strap too, and the weight worries are drastically eased. I've been buffing the front simply with a cloth (lots), not got around to much of the back yet. The factory finish is, um, unfinished. Why have I got 1 battery box, and littleal has 2?
Hmmmm =S They both fir two 9V battries right so not a huge issue, just something to think about? Whats the scale length? is it a "long" as it were 35"? as i love the Rotosounds but they only make them as a 34" set i think (the mega down tune ones) If i got one i'd change the Pre-amp and most likely the pickups both to Bartolinis, Its got a kill switch right? Each piccie up makes me want to take the plunge and buy dmz's 7! haha! Most likely spend the £300 of its worth on doing it up too, strap locks, pre-amp, maybe pups and a re-finish? Then by my maths, £600ish for a bass that seems like its worth £1000+? xD
19. Ah thanks Delberthot! Sounds like no worries then xD
20. I'm After The MB212 combo but only Thomann seem to stock it =/
21. If those are the three tunes you use for practise then the flats will get you closer to the tines on the records as i'm fairly sure Flea used Flats (on a P as well!) for a lot of he Chillies work, but always had a Stringray/Modulus on hand too,
22.
I wish I had time to play one at Bass Day!
Hey Dood, if were ever in a similar area (fat chance ='( ) it'd be awesome to have a groovey bass sesh/swap for an hour or so I love chunkey necks, i think a V would be perfect for me, though thats theoretical never played a bass with a V neck, sorry to jump off topic =S
23. would LOVE the P right now, but a few things are above basses in my things which require money list! Awesome basses! Bump on me!
24. Oh also, they are great strings in general, had them in a P-bass for ages, got a good slap-funk rock sound but could do funk and rock with ease xD
25. I'm 99% certain he did, i met him in person while he was noodle-ing (? haha) on a bass (his sig witrh sigg strings) in london, i tried the bass the day after and all i got was smooth flats retro P sound, He is a MONSTER tone from his fingers man! Phantom of the opera sounds very much like flats to me, or is that just me? (note to self learn phantom of the opera!) Just my two pence piece like
