4.
I want biscuits, but only if they have SVT stamped on them. SVT Ginger Nuts... you heard it here first... im copyrighting that RIGHT NOW.
Just had a packet of those, sorry too burst the bubble! I think thats tescos own "/
 5.
Ha ha ha - no. no, Billy is quite the opposite. I've met him a couple of times and he's good friends with my drummer over in L.A. Very humble chap, many will say. Cool, well It's always possible there was more to the SVT4! I'd love to read more about Billy's involvement in gear design - I'm a geek at heart! (key) lol - see what I did there... tee hee! Ok, I won't say it anymore ! lol
Huh, just looked over the last few for sale amps pages, alot of Hartke gear there... Maybe its a sign i should use Hartke? or am i just a tiny bit of a fan boy? haha I still haven't met billy :'( On my list of bad ass people to meet! he is one of the truely moddest people around
 6.
Billy? Smug? Have you met the guy?

I tried to read all of that thread - but WTF with all the religion??? Maaaaaan! I would have closed that thread! I don't think Billy had a hand in the SVT 4 - as it's basically just the SVP Pro preamp strapped to a Mosfet power amp with some bridging options. The SVP preamp appears in the SVT 2 Pro as well, which has been around for donkeys years. He obviously had an involvement with the BSP preamp as you have already said - though I can't remember ever seeing that he was invovled with adding that preamp PLUS the additional 'stuff' to make up the SVT5 Pro. Another thing that makes me think that he didn't get invovled with the SVT 5, is that his rig only ever had SVT4's in. Seems strange for an artist to go through such a long design process not to use the gear at all. - A bit like me waiting for my two Shukers - then never playing them I guess. Well, if indeed Billy is over to Hartke - makes me feel a little bit smiley to think I'd been banging on about mine for so many years!
I'm almost certain Billy isn't smug (don't shatter my dreams haah!) haha Nice Dood xD I read it a while ago though i may be remembering wrong, but that ampeg worked with Him to tweak the Pro 4 much like the EBMM Bongo and John Myung, well the 6 string at least! And stop saying Hartke, i feel some GAS bubbling, especcially as i just settled on a GK rig and i'm hoping to buy another bass! And thats why Basschat is so good great mods!
 7.
After these many years Mr Sheehan has recently left Ampeg. He sold all his Ampeg on e-bay and will soon be announced as Hartkes latest artist. I'm new to this site and must say I'm a bit shocked with how militant some people are in their views of what equipment rules and what is rubbish. I love the Amp/cab I own but would happily own 100's of others. There is FAR too much awesome equipment out there to religiously stick to one brand or amp type but, thats just me and I'm one of those guys who will probably never stop searching for my next favourite tone.
Yep! http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=675170 Pretty much tells everything to do with it! Am i right in saying It was Billy who pretty much shaped/designed the SVT Pro 4? My favourite Ampeg is the SVP BSP just for the distortion Both of those are hyrbrids right? Mr Billy Sheehan is no longer an Ampeg man, now a hartke man. Its a really shame and loss for ampeg!
 8. I have it on good authority that the OP is back in love with his set up and when i have money at some point in my life (never :'( ) I plan to get exactly the same set up!
 9.
Watched Blur 'the singles' gig on Sky Arts last night. What was Alex James using? A Stingray into an SVT 2 Pro with 8x10 'fridge'. But hey, what does he know! He sounded awesome by the way, but the amp was probably off or just a cardboard cut out of it just for show. Like many have told me, he was probably just going straight into the mixing desk through a £100 di pedal.
Well, he HAS called him self a bass playing cheese idiot 20 pages still going.. only reason i haven't gone to bed yet =S
 10.
The Duff McKagan Signature model has a jazz neck.
Actually its a custom size, its more P-bass to my hands, Swapping the necks it quite easy is it not? as they are the same ummm measurements? In the pocket and what not
 11. Its not a precision, its just a 50's Tele bass i think! These are FANTASTIC, i played one last week and loved it, though they are to taste, Also would sound perfect if you want to be like sting hah!
 12.
Could I get a pic of the pickups? Cheers
Me too! Ta!
 13. Wow! A B2! I'd love it, i wonder what the reserve is? Who ever bid £50 is a joker, Though i'd rather one in white Plus i need a new amp like, if i'm right these are around £1800-£2200???? new?
 14.
I love the yams, really regret the muang, that got stolen in transit to scotland by the Royal Fail!!!!
I love the Yamahas too! I don't get out my city much but if i hear anything about the Myung I'll let you know, real shame! Any reason for selling them all? haha!
 15.
Is it a Dimarzio that goes in the Yamaha Attitude basses? Thats the best one, I reckon.
Yup Though the willpower split P on its own isn't great for use in a band as its kinda thin but very very clear "growly" to some ears too, I'm a huge dimarzio fan, part of why i bought an Attitude, The Modle P or the split P for me, Oh i do like the Seymour Duncan SPB-1, not the SPB-3 though, and i'm not sure why...
 16. Hey Mate! What is it with you and great taste in Yamaha Basses! If only i had any money! X_x best of luck with the sale!
 17.
Yep, I tried to buy one the other day, had to be put on order. The next monday I got a call saying that it had been discontinued and replaced by the 424's et al. Zach
Dang! The 424s are almost £100 more, ah well, hopefully a 414 in MO will be on here son enough, are they still making the 414x?
 18. If i'm right, (i hope i'm not!) That they are no longer making these! the 414/5s Which would be a shame as i would love a metallic orange one like that as they are being completely replaced by the 424/5s as alot of places no longer stock the 414/415 and say they are no longer avalible?
 19. Whats the tone of the peavey like? and how powerful is the EQ? Might be interested after i shift some stuff, and if this is still around for a while! haha, failing that this is a free bump
 20.

That time i fell over Its offical, best forum on the interweb BC is

 25.
You might want to work on a few runs here and there but I wouldn't start out by trying to play more. When you get around to playing live you will find that the energy of the gig will add a little to your playing. If you start too complicated you run the risk of totally over-playing in the live situation. Your playing style reminds me of mine. I'm normally so laid back I could do with a mattress. Quite often, though, I embellish lines during a gig, mostly to tick off the guitarist.
Thanks for the advicev we've been asked to gig already and we don't have a name! Its for a friend though, People have said its odd that a Prog metal bassist/Hard rock player such as myself plays so laid back, but its just what feels natural Maybe we should try playing while lying on mattress haha thanks again!
