1. Ummmm More Advice Bump?
 2. Hey guys i've been asked to play bass for a friend of mine who is hoping to make her way into the world of singing! The band is together and we decided acoustic is a good idea for some songs or an acoustic live set, as right now the only bass i have is my Yamaha Attitude! It looks the part in sea foam green (yes a lava red one would be EVEN more amazing but still...) but the sound isn't quite fitted to pop style backing stuff i could get a P-bass but i'd want something like a Dulux series or An American standard since i'd end up using it for everything =S lol! I probably will if this project goes somewhere (right now it'll be just studio and i can set the Attitude for a fitting sound with alot of adjustment) Erm, anyway! Yes, looking for a sub £200 (used will do!) Electro Acoustic bass to net for the future, I've played an Ibanez one which was decent no idea on model though Thanks Guys! And as a note, Six String Acoustics? I've seen like 5 ever in pictures, i know Billy Sheehan has one Another was on a forum where this guy in the USA had one made by a luthier and i don't remember the rest Do Six string acoustics get "mass" produced by any company? Just Curious is all! Many Thanks Adam
 3. If its Trinity College of music london then: Sight reading, Scales must know all from the grade 3 list but will only be asked for three Aural (spelling?), Ear tests/ Listening, and basic musical terms knowledge Also the ability to recognise intervals (Minor/Major 3rd, perfect 4th or perfect 5th those are the ones for grade 3) and i think a warm up exercise may be asked, but if its Trinity he should have the Trinity book for grade 1-8 stuff? I THINK thats all? Trinity london only does "jazz bass" exams i think not too sure on that BTW: My information? Thats what they want for my Trombone grade three this day three weeks from now doing grade 5 two months after XD so i could be way out but thats the bass Brass at least (trombone, tuba,Euphonium and variations) Hope thats a form of help!
 4.
I've never heard of a speaker designed for between two power ranges, typically they just quote the maximum sensible power they can eat. I'd imagine there's a good reason for that. 400w sounds like a lot of rig, but (bearing in mind I've never used a Billy Sheehan bass) do you actually mix both pickups 50:50? I would've thought the bass pickup would be more an afterthought, and most of the power would be dedicated to the P pickup. Well your older brother probably enjoyed all the mindbending drugs so let's not pick on him. I've had guitarists with 50w valve amps cause really irritatingly-sharp ear-hole annoying noises at rehearsals, and guitarists with 50w transistor heads fail to be heard over an un-miked drummer. The accepted wisdom is that a bass guitar needs about 3x the power of a guitar (although this depends on the sort of sounds you're all using and whose manufacturers are honest about amp power output and speaker efficiency) to be as audible, and probably with 300w or so available and a decently efficient speaker set-up you'd be OK for anything that didn't have PA reinforcement. Personally I like to know I've got a bit more headroom than that, but in practice I never use it. In your situation though, it's all about the balance between your two amps, and I can't see you using both 50:50, so think about that first - how you use your Billy Sheehan bass.
Ha ha! Thank you very very muchly! I use both of the pickups on the Sheehan bass at almost Full volume when you combine them you lose output and the tone isn't quite there The Pick ups are separate, Volume wise, i'd say i run them almost equal but i'd say 55:45 or probably more realistically 60:40 the higher being the P pickup, The P is quite "thin" and doesn't really support the whole depth of the sound in a band context also having the two separate pick ups means you can use mostly what you like on the thinner pickup (The P pup) effects wise and still have the low end of the clean fat neck pick up If that makes sense I would like to say thank you for helping straighten out my mind!
 5. I would like to Add, my mind is useless a deciding wattages As My only and older brother is convinced you could play An outdoor gig with 15W and that U2 play stadiums with only like five 30W heads and NO PA X_X I'm so confused now!
 6.
Have you considered the B-410hlf? Lovely cabs and serious whack off them. the 410he seems a bit pricey at 500 new. I have used one with an Ampeg SVT 3Pro and a b500DR and it sounds great, especially mic´d up. Only thing is its 4ohms, so not sure if that fits in with your rig plans FYI, I have one for sale.
Ha! I've used one, Fab cabs! Thing is i would need a Power amp (two Channel) as i'm using an Ampeg SVP BSP pre amp and i hope to add an SVP Pro too, and for ease i'd like two identical cabs so what ever i have on one side i'd like on the other (I'm wierd like that... haha!)
 7.
You can never have too much power handling though... What if you get your 200w cab and your needs change and you need more power? You'd have to change your head AND your cab...
But Surely You lose tone quality as your not driving the speakers at optimum performance levels? And plus i mean not trying to come off as an arse (as i know i'm sounding like one and i apologise, i just have that way with words,) but i don't see my needs changing in the near future but you do raise a good point... (Also Yamaha Attitude so in reality it would be 400W in total as i'd double the rig)
 8.
This is the best opportunity to sell something. Advertise it here, NOW!
Not a sale, but needing some Advice http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=77487&st=0
 9.
I already do - My partner says I look a twat, but then I used to enjoy tucking my jumper into my jeans......
100% the same, minus i don't have a partner, so i'm just sad We should form a club or super hero band man, and +1 To those who donated straight away!
 10.
You've done it now, haven't you? They'll all be wearing their undercrackers over their jeans now!!!!
Who Doesn't! Anyone? No? ...
 11.
Crazy.. Why would he go to all that trouble? He was having conversations with himself, gave himself feedback, even had transactions with other people on here through both accounts. I noticed yesterday Maddude had also asked for donations of gear for a "charity" He was involved in. I wonder if anyone got fleeced that way. Thankgod the mods spotted it an sorted it before it got too far. Im a member of several large forums, and without doubt this place has the best and most active moderators and admin. Top job guys!
+99999999999 Not only Active, and dedicated but a full Super hero team of top guys! Being A Mod sounds like Tough work, i've always wanted to be one but there is more to them than all this! See Admin/Moderators and Super Heros are almost the same thing
 12.
For the 4x10 have a quick look at MATAMP they are about the same price region but VERY good quality and will take 1200W. I have 2 of them and they really are good
Thanks! though 1200W is just a bit much! As i am doing miked studio work and Smaller Gigs, and since i play a Yamaha Attitude I have two outputs, its 400W in total, i was using a friends GK 2001RB bridged the tone at lower volumes wasn't quite there, and at higher volumes it was a bit too loud for the rest of the band an the venue I've used an SVT pro 4 and SVT PRO pre amp through SVT410HE and an AVT810AV and i loved the tone! I play rock, and with half of my signal distorted and sometimes octave fuzzed (though the Octave fuzz i borrow from a the same mate who owns the Fab rig! haha)

 16. I know the Main focus here is the Tragedy here and may James Preston, Rest. In. Peace. I have several Dyslexic friends and they get abuse for the most pointless reasons, and i can on some level relate as English isn't my first language (And Firefox spell check really helps!) Anyone who gave him abuse should be ashamed. But i would like to Thank on others behalf The Basschat Communities Friendliness on this thread but in general. Condolences to the Family and friends, i'm sorry for the loss, and if it was Suicide... may his thoughts be still (a vague translation of Malay phrase) RIP My Thoughts and condolences. Adam Castle

 21. New feed back for Pete! Very Nice guy, pleasant to deal with deal was likewise smooth and easy with lots of communication! Thanks Again Pete
 22.
Thanks for your interest. The pedal takes a standard Boss power supply. the approximate dimensions are 4" x 6.5" and 2" high. Payment by Paypal. When that has cleared I could post or the buyer is welcome to collect. I could post however you want (at your cost), but it would have to be signed for on delivery (e.g. Royal Mail Special Delivery). I think that'd probably cost about £8. Okay?
Yep! sounds great, i'll get back to you ASAP via PM
 23. ok thanks! i am very interested in this but £100 is a little steep for me right now, but that is an AMAZING price, i'll see what money i can scrape together but i am interested, can this take a standard BOSS power supply or? also what are the dimensions? as my pedal board is currently BOSS only + a big muff, and with this things connectors at the north end i'll need to re-arrange, maybe drop the muff from the board etc Many Thanks! Note: How would you want payment? and would it be posted or? (sorry! i sound like i've bought it! count this as a feeler offer i guess)
 24. Aye up, that would be me! what is the difference (minus cosmetics, and i must say the new one looks very very cool) between yours and this? http://www.buyanalogman.com/Bass_Octave_Fu...octave-fuzz.htm
 25. Due to location i buy blind, doesn't mean i'm not careful though! i spend alot of time looking and researching. And i go to Glasgow and Edinburgh on A Music testing trip once every 11 months or so, and when i'm in europe i test stuff! Depends if your willing to take a risk, for example i'm looking to getting an Ampeg BA115T no where local or with in 100 miles has one so i can't test, so i'm not really sure since it has that tweeter hiss issue i don't have money to spare and can't drive so i'm probably not going to get it, thats an example of me, and how i think and my opinion, its all every man to his own of course EDIT: Just read through that and i sound like a fool
