1. Oooh I'm VERY interested in That SYB-5
2. WOW if i had the money to get to belgium and buy that bass from you!!! Why aren't people tearing your arms off? Magical bass for a sweet price IMHO BUMP for you
3. Thanks for the PM Geester! Just looking at my financial situation looks like £350 is a bit steep! which is unfortunate as i've been after a Pro for sometime =/ if i do get the money i'll let you know ASAP but otherwise good luck with the sale
4.
If you want close to the original t.bird sound for less than a new (or second hand), modern Gibson version you could try to find a 70s/80s Japanese made Geco Thunderbird. They're very well made and, like the original T.birds of the 60s, have much hotter, growlier (chrome) pickups than the later (black soapbar) versions. I've seen them go on Ebay for 350-400 quid, which is allot cheaper than the ten grand I saw being asked for an original NR T.Bird
Oh ok, what about the new ones from the 2000s? This one i saw i just found out is £999
5. i played a T-bird the other day while testing out some Ampeg gear, (SVT 4 pro and 8-10 cab) KILLER combo, what the bassist fro "Ash" uses i think, (but the Autobots sticker makes up most of his tone me thinks) What is a good price to pay for a Gibson Thunderbird? The one in the shop wasn't priced at that time (there wasn't a tag, and i was too shy to ask as the guy at the counter was with his girl friend, unprofessional much!) Plus i've my eye on the Ampeg stuff XD
6. If only i had the money! Free bump! Quality head, great deal people! some lucky person should get this ASAP before they missout!
7.
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/bas...fuzz/index.html
looks perfect! Many many thanks! Now to look where to get one! =/ is this the same thing? http://www.buyanalogman.com/Bass_Octave_Fu...octave-fuzz.htm and yes crez5150, An Octo-fuzz was the word i was looking for! it was in my mind, can't seem to find one though
8.
hi, no idea what it sounds like, but a google search led me to this : http://www.imuso.co.uk/Effects/13762-/Ashd...r-Effects-Pedal tbh, i would probably go for two different pedals, but who knows, it could work...
Thats the right Idea, but i want an octave up =) Like The Dunlop Hendriz fuzz octave they did for a limited time, i've looked but not found one for sale =S
9.
which QOTSA and vultures tracks are you referring to??
I'm not sure if he's used any on anything on the Vultures Album (My fav first album to date!) I think the solo on Little sister uses it with many other effects, i'll try and remember (Ie ask my brother! he knows every one i think) but alot of Lullabies to Paralyse and Songs for the deaf he uses it, its a studio thing he likes
10. Hey All! Looking for an Octaver and a Fuzz/Distortion (only one! just to clarify), I like the one Josh Homme (queens of the stoneage, Them Crooked Vultures) uses used one with a P-bass last year, can't remember the name =/, Octavius maybe? Not A Clue who its made by, and i can't find anything on it, but Names please and recommendation! I've only ever used the one, and i remembered how much i loved it! Thanks! Adam, Note: If you could tell me where i could maybe get one too would be appreciated! Name of pedal and company names please! Ta!
11. Lord i love that! How much posted? and would my Ampeg Gear fit in? (should do right 19.5 is big enough but i'm double checking!) and what size rack screws does it take? or does with them? Many regards I have much interest in this!! Adam,
12. Hey, I am very interested in this! but i am in scotland in the northeast, does that rule me out? Many Thanks! Adam
13. Hey, I am interested in getting one but not enough to buy one new! PM'd (with only minor interest mind you)
14.
Because even the best instruments are compromises (no matter how good), and it ticks all the other boxes? A good example being my Yamaha Attitude. Monster Tone Plays well Feels good Really well made (Japanese!) Good hardware (DiMarzios, Gotohs, a proper Hipshot De-Tuner) "Real" P neck profile But- that hefty neck, headstock layout, weighty tuners and Hipshot do make it a bit dive-prone. I'll live with it, though.
I like the dive =/ i find the Attitude 100% perfect i like the Headstock, the look and i can't live with out sliding my thumb up onto it and quirkily bumping it when i excitedly got to 1st fret but one to his own
15.
perhaps don't wear your favourite shirt for gigging. Surely it will end up ragged and sweaty?
Well Look at Slashes Motorhead shirt, and its like my lucky pick, i don't even play with a pick :L and thanks, yeah, i'll try as many as i can find, i first off and just have since used the widest flattest strap i can
16.
Sounds like it's your bass that's the problem. Change the strap button locations, failing that, change bass.
I don't want to touch the strap buttons =S And i can't change bass! my bass is perfect with my setup (i tend to find problems in problems =S) Maybe i should try other shirts, idk, is that really the solution? I mean, Sheehan doesn't have this problem
17. Hey Guys! (Hope every one enjoyed Christmas ) I have been playing a lot of small gigs recently and since i move around more in a show than when i practise or rehearse i hadn't really noticed it, but my bass/ strap slides around while it holds my shirt, 1) Stretching my good shirts i got in japan! which i am yet to find any other like it =S (including my favourite ) and 2) the rubbing has really gnashed my shoulder and 3) means my bass keeps sliding out of position and i can only re-adjust after each song, and it just won't stay in place =S i mean i have watched other bands live, stood next to fellow bassists etc and they just lift their bass, and the strap moves with it and they re-adjust it just like that! where am i going wrong! grrrrrrrr sorry guys i'm no good at describing things.... note i play with my Attitude parallel to the floor and use wide leather straps (I have two Moody leather straps which are comferatble but don't seem like they'll last constant use, though i could be wrong,??? anyone? so i tend to use Italia leather straps) and i'm 5" 11 and growing, if that helps too, and i mean moving like interaction and walking nothing extreme =S Anyway, thanks for any help you can give, Happy Holidays and have a great 2010 =D Adam,
18.
Bump! right, i have seen something i want. £450 WITH FLIGHTCASE. Takes it! No offers, this is a FIRM price.
=O i wish i had the money! but i don't have a rig to match or the money to build one anytime in the next few years..... have a free bump it would be sweet to own one =S and it would be a perfect match for my SVP BSP but i plan on getting an SVP PRO, but i regress, Good luck with the sale
19.
That popping video bears the same relationship to bass playing as a keepy-uppy expert bears to a Premiership footballer. It's a clever trick and I'm sure he's worked hard to get that far, but it's completely pointless.
totally, i mean after what level 2 maybe three it becomes harsh noise, some of the tapped chord stuff is cool, but there is no "clarity" as such i find that a hard word to use as my tone isn't tonally but it is "clear" but not transparent, get what i mean? (i'm usless with words )
20. Hey All, I literally cried when i saw this at level four... jokes but i was speechless, i don't slap often and i'm not very good but its a hell of a lot of fun! and yes i know he is using a loop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4HnTSYvJWc Also I love Tetsuo Sakurai! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piAOXND2vKw =S AC, EDIT: Just remembered this vid of Gustavo Dalfarra Playing "My Art Is Bass" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy3V2Tl4g3s&NR=1 (saw him my self when i was in Barcelona Spain and when i was in Barcelona Venezuela! he is from the latter but lives in the first, good thing my brother speaks Spanish lol, all i know is German!)
21. Hi Ash, once again truly sorry that our deal fell through =( Is that an SVP PRO? pre amp or? If at Christmas i get more money i'll once again be interested! Adam,
22.
Water, detergent, patience and effort. Just slightly damp cloth, avoid unfinished parts with it. Edit: Or sandpaper also seems popular among the 'relic' crowd.
Thanks! what about cleaning the frets and the neck?
23. Hey Guys Looking to scrub my bass clean! Recommendation? Adam,
