1. That's brilliant Rich! Where are the 10 dates by the way? Need to see you guys live ASAP!
2. Played a few of the Japanese ESP basses and guitars, they are phenomninal. Not hugely keen on the western (UK/Europle/US) versions but the Japanese stuff is incredible build quality and tone. Went on a trip to their custom shop and it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen! Played a few ESP LTD basses and really liked them, I've been very tempted by one of the F series basses and swapping out the pickups, lovely!
3. Russ (Binky on here) must have some heavy basses! Those ERB's can't be that light!
4. Well I NEED to see this one before you leave!
5.
I'll get them up. Its amazing! Actually insanely light! You'll need to try it man dont you need a 6 string?
Haha! The Yammie sees more of me than the 6 string. The sixer just covers the heavier stuff, and anything that needs sweeps Hoping to whip up a 4 string super P design with Rich after I saw yours drying! But speaking of ERBs I was interested in planning an 8 string... F# to F if you were wondering ha!
6. Can't wait for all the pictures
7. I thought the bass could maybe have done a bit more in that track to keep it driving but that's me being cynical Love the entire album. I love trying to work out which of the three bass players did what on the album too ha! The bass solo on track 3, Gorgio by Moroder is great!
8. So tempted to get one now! What ever happened to the pac 9 by the way?
9. Welcome to the slide! Been playing 11 years now. Loved every minute
10.
G&L L-1000 boom!
Just you wait till you build me something
11. Bare Knuckle gets my vote!
12. Oooft so jealous! Think I'll get a custom before an ATT 3, but I really want one!
13. I like the way you think
14.
I'm in favour for a bit of brand consistency and look but with different colourings.
+1 Agreed!
15. I remember throwing this idea around with Davie and Rich a few years ago! I'd be up for this! 18 two weeks tomorrow too
16.
You'll enjoy my latest wee project the next time you visit then.
Well I'll see you at some point this week then
17.
Yeah it is! That's sort of where the idea came from. I love the sound of a Jazz, but can't hack the spindly necks.
Been interested in doing something like this for ages! But I just can't summon the funds. Would love a chunky P neck on a raspy Jazz body!
18.
Isn't that Delberthot's?
Looks like it! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/214820-turbo-charged-dean-custom-zone-bass-with-dimarzio-will-power/page__p__2178634#entry2178634
19.
*cough* might be selling a DBS7200 *cough*
If you decided to do so, I call a pre-sale PM
20.
Bugger, that means that the VBAs will only get pricier secondhand always wanted one, will probably never happen now...
My thoughts exactly, hopefully my whistle blowing antics aren't the cause. Would be a really downer! Sometimes they pop up for £500 -£800 maybe we'll get lucky
Such a shame. I still love marshall bass gear. Lets hope they put the name on something good
My thoughts exactly! Looks like some DBS or VBA gear will have to find it's way to me then! Or just keep saving for the ellusive Laney Nexus I want! Hope so! But from what I was told it looks like the Marshall name won't be on bass amps any more, all Eden, all modern, hi-fi-y american amps. Not the big valvey grunchy monoliths of rage I want
21. I've done some poking and sent some e-mails, and indeed both the VBA and MB series are no longer in production Marshall bought Eden a while back (http://iheartguitarblog.com/2011/12/marshall-buys-eden-bass-amps-from-us-music-corp.html) And it appears either they are leaving all bass manufacturing to Eden under the Eden name, or will be using Eden to produce Marshall Bass amps. Though based on what I've heard and read, it looks like former, and no Marshall bass amps will be made, at least not for a while anyway. Sad stuff as I've always loved Marshall bass amps!
22.
Epiphone Thunderbird Classic... http://www.gak.co.uk...ine-white/57334
+100 I'm not much of a thunderbird fan, played a good few customshops, and Gibson ones, plus one from the Mid sixties I believe (Only one I liked playing) Played the Epiphone Pro classic and loved it, still not totally my cup of tea, but really enjoyed the tone and playing! Made me a bit of a convert
23. Give us a 6 string version!
24. Billy Sheehan makes a point of using the same models as come from the factory, his are occasionally alted slightly, like he has some basses with gloss on the necks or brass nuts but these are all done after they've come off the assembly line and are otherwise identical. Most players don't though, shame really Edit: As stated above though there are some signatures with an expensive and cheaper version, like the Gary Willis and teh Gerald Veasley, John Pattituci and the like
25. Sounds like you played it with a tider left hand than Juan did on the recording! You ever played this live? Let me tell you, playing this live at the age of 15 is not fun... Early day gig memories! Seriously well done mate! Have a crack at King of the monsters, awesome bass parts!
