Thanks for all the responses so far, I must admit at the moment Im leaning towards the Warwick, although last week I had my heart set on a Sterling SB14, so thats liable to change without notice Im not sure on the price of the warwick, but I have just seen another post on here that someone is getting a new one for a smidgen under £600, so that bodes well for the price of a second hand one. I'd love to be to try all of them, but my local music shop isnt blessed with a huge selection, and the only other music shop here in the new Mall thing only has the basic Squier type things. On top of that Im struggling to get around with my back/leg problems I cant really make a trip to a bigger city to check them out, so its going to have to be a case of buy and try. If I dont like, well then someone on here will probably end up with a new bass!

I've got some money from Ebay and a small inheritance and I want a new bass (again) but Im now torn between 3. 1) Warwick Corvette standard ash 2) G&L L-2000 3) Musicman Stingray I love the looks and tone of the Warwick, I love the range of tones from the G&L and I love the look and heritage of the Stingray. The Stingray will need more money saving up, the G&L I can just about manage now, the Warwick Im not sure on the pricing yet. Now, I like slimmer jazz necks, but I realize all of the above are bigger than that. They all should be manageable though. From all the videos I have seen, the Warwick makes the nicest sound, but the sheer range the G&L produces could also be very interesting. It would be like having a new bass every time you fiddled with the knobs. The stingray is just one of those must have basses, but Im not sure I want it just yet in case I get bored with it and sell it on. Any pros and cons to help me decide would be very much obliged. I hate all this decision making stuff.

I would really love to buy it, but I just dont have the funds, and want to give the credit card a break over Xmas. Annoying thing is I just got a cheque for £500 from my Grandma's will, but its already all spent. I owe my misses £300 and my car tax is due at the end of the month, which is £215. Im pretty sure my local music shop doesnt stock these, but I might give the Ray a chance if I can find one to try out somewhere. I've run out of things to sell aswell, so its a case of having to save up unfortunately.

I have been watching all the musicmans on Ebay, but I would be hung up by my knackers if I bought one now. Its gonna have to wait until after Xmas, cos the misses wont be best pleased if I blow £600 on myself and then have nothing left for others Xmas pressies. I've narrowed it down to either the SB14 or a real MM Sterling. I think the Stingray necks will be too wide for me to play comfortably. The SB14 has the same nut width as my Squier VM as does the real Sterling I think, so they should both be fine. Certainly makes more sense to get a real second hand Sterling for around £600ish than spend the same on a new SB14. Cheers for all the coments!

Is that a Musicman Sterling, or Sterling by Musicman? Why did they make it so confusing? There is a big price gap between the two!

Thought I'd got over it, but its still niggling. Wont be able to afford it for a while, but Im not sure what to go for. I'd looking at the Ray 34 or SB14. After watching some videos, I think I prefer the sound of the SB14, but not sure why really ir what the differences are. I like a jazz neck, as I only have small hands, which is better in that aspect? Also where do the SUBs fit in the equation, are they just older versions of the same? I'd probably be looking at no more than £500, may a little more at a push. Sorry for the vaugness, but there are so many versions of the stingray type, I get confused at whats what.

I have a Edirol UA-25. Cost me £70. USB straight into the mac, standard guitar jack lead from bass into the unit, and thats it. Does the job. Need to play around with the levels to get a good strong sound, but once you've figured that, its simples. Can also plug mics, another guitar and Midi in with it too. I think the new Korg Pandora PXD5 also does USB to computer recording, plus you get all the effects and the pre amp and everything else it does too.

Damnit, why dont I ever find bargains like this? Give you £220 for it
