1. I watched the first episode and maybe part of the second. My prediction is that someone who does that percussive acoustic guitar thing is going to win. I hate that style of playing but norms seem to be impressed by it.
2. Thanks again JapanAxe for the info...very useful and very much appreciated
3. Great info and video JA! Much appreciated Well, all very useful and positive stuff so far. I'm still keen on the idea. Personally I always think a band with a theme is an easier sell than the usual "bit of everything, really" route. Thanks again for all the info
4.
Nice one! load up the spectracomp and leave it alone.
I think you've nailed it there! I will gladly take your advice
5.
Get into a band,PM me,and perhaps we could join forces on a gig! All the best.
Thanks for the info...and that sounds like a plan!
Unfortunately, in the UK the country scene also means line dancing, people dressing up as Injuns, and carrying toy guns. It's a shame.
Oh dear. I would find that totally soul destroying in the same way that I hate that middle aged drunk bloke who dad dances through dodgy rock covers gigs
6. As fickle as I am my most recent idea is to join a country covers band. Mainly as an excuse to wear my cowboy hat Who here plays country? Just looking for info about ease of finding gigs...types of venues...size of crowds...money to be made...setlist tips...and just general experiences and information. My goal would be to play less gigs than your average pub rock band...but to play at better venues, paying better money. How achievable is this goal? Any info that you can share will be gratefully received.
7. Just got a TC BH550! Only had a little play so far but seems a pretty great little amp. I've not found a toneprint that blows me away yet but I'm warming to the tubedrive. Of course I won't really know much until I use it in anger. The only down side so far is that the two little micro switches are very fiddly. I can't switch toneprints without my fat fingers moving the knobs Not really a problem because once I have a sound I like I will just leave it alone...I'm not one for using multiple sounds. And it's red
8. Just thought I would share a positive experience with Project Music. Never heard of them before but they had the best price I could find for my new TC BH550. I ordered it yesterday just before noon. They even phoned me just after placing the order to check everything went ok. The amp arrived at about 1pm today. Double boxed nicely...although the outside box was for an Ashdown amp...so I thought it had gone horribly wrong for a second or two The amp is great...it even matches one of my leads and basses...which is very, very important of course! It is supposed to come with a free instrument cable but that wasn't there. I emailed PM and they replied within minutes saying that the lead is shipped separately and they would double check it was on the way. So, great price, free and quick delivery, a free cable and excellent communications. Couldn't be happier. 9. That is an awesome set list. I could do without Sweet Child but other than that it's spot on.
10. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UK_Singles_Chart_number_ones_of_the_1980s All the number ones of the 80s. Loads of great songs of all genres. My guess is that the 80s were no worse than any other decade.
11. I'm a big PJ fan. Normally everything up full. Tweak the volume knobs to suit the song/room etc. Also the J gives me somewhere to rest my thumb.
12.
Is there a point in a man's life where he should give up telling other men what hair style to have?
No.
13. Looks great to me! Think I might just have a wonder over to AliExpress for a bit
14. Just realised I'm not going to be around for the voting. Sorry folks.
15.
There it is. Sounds good to me!
That sounds awesome.
16.
Here we go then, folks, try this for size... Pachelbel Passion ... Enjoy.
Really enjoyed that Good job
17. Thanks guys. The only way I'm ever going to get first methinks Yeah I like heavier stuff but I can't play it and I've just learned that I can't record or mix it either so no point in trying too hard Looking forward to hearing the other contributions

19. Yay! Congratulations...a well deserved win. But in some ways all the entries were winners Not in the literal sense though
20.
A Ken Smith, a Gretsch, and a Rough Rider stag handled hunting knife.
Bought the knife
21. Well done to everyone. Great stuff and a difficult decision as always!
22. I had a 6 string fretless for a while. It sounded amazing. Turns out I can't play fretless. Or 6 strings
23. I struggle with the whole "playing" thing.
24. A Ken Smith, a Gretsch, and a Rough Rider stag handled hunting knife.
25. I like your style Funnily enough, about 25+ years ago when I was a huge Kiss fan I considered getting a some kind of cheapy cricket bat/steinberger copy and making detachable axe shaped "wings" for it...which is not a million miles away from your approach. I always thought it might make a feasible commercial product...a bass with exchangeable body styles. But anyhoo...looking forward to the end result!
