I watched the first episode and maybe part of the second. My prediction is that someone who does that percussive acoustic guitar thing is going to win. I hate that style of playing but norms seem to be impressed by it.

As fickle as I am my most recent idea is to join a country covers band. Mainly as an excuse to wear my cowboy hat Who here plays country? Just looking for info about ease of finding gigs...types of venues...size of crowds...money to be made...setlist tips...and just general experiences and information. My goal would be to play less gigs than your average pub rock band...but to play at better venues, paying better money. How achievable is this goal? Any info that you can share will be gratefully received.

Just got a TC BH550! Only had a little play so far but seems a pretty great little amp. I've not found a toneprint that blows me away yet but I'm warming to the tubedrive. Of course I won't really know much until I use it in anger. The only down side so far is that the two little micro switches are very fiddly. I can't switch toneprints without my fat fingers moving the knobs Not really a problem because once I have a sound I like I will just leave it alone...I'm not one for using multiple sounds. And it's red

Just thought I would share a positive experience with Project Music. Never heard of them before but they had the best price I could find for my new TC BH550. I ordered it yesterday just before noon. They even phoned me just after placing the order to check everything went ok. The amp arrived at about 1pm today. Double boxed nicely...although the outside box was for an Ashdown amp...so I thought it had gone horribly wrong for a second or two The amp is great...it even matches one of my leads and basses...which is very, very important of course! It is supposed to come with a free instrument cable but that wasn't there. I emailed PM and they replied within minutes saying that the lead is shipped separately and they would double check it was on the way. So, great price, free and quick delivery, a free cable and excellent communications. Couldn't be happier. I'm a big PJ fan. Normally everything up full. Tweak the volume knobs to suit the song/room etc. Also the J gives me somewhere to rest my thumb.

I like your style Funnily enough, about 25+ years ago when I was a huge Kiss fan I considered getting a some kind of cheapy cricket bat/steinberger copy and making detachable axe shaped "wings" for it...which is not a million miles away from your approach. I always thought it might make a feasible commercial product...a bass with exchangeable body styles. But anyhoo...looking forward to the end result!
