1. Take a break. Sell the gear that is easily replaceable. Keep the "special" stuff for your (inevitable) return. Use the money to take up Airsoft. Spend your weekends runningaround shooting people.
2. I'm still very much enamoured with my Retrovibe Aero2. I'm not entirely sure I could play anything else now. I want to love my bitsa P but it's totally overshadowed by the above.
3. My first gig was at the Coach and Horses in West Brom I think in February 87. We were pretty awful. Just 30 minutes of dodgy covers supporting another local band. Funnily enough I ended up in a band with 3 of the headlining bands members, including our own Mr. Fudge. And that band turned into the best years of my life. Loved it.
4. I am typing this message on some kind of small, portable telephone. Back of the net.
5. I don't post as much as I used to. I have always been mainly an off-topic user anyway but I do occasionally contribute in the other forums. However in recent times and by that I probably mean the last year, I have found a higher chance of being shouted down, argued with and insulted in the other forums too. The last few times I have dared to actually have an opinion, based on my 25 years of playing the bass, it hasn't taken long for a few boorish posters to appear and tell me my opinions are wrong and I'm stupid and gullible for having those opinions. So now I just don't bother.
6. I just accidentally liked a post. I need a retract button.
7. There are a handful of quite aggressive and highly opinionated posters who form the basis of most of the controversial threads. I see this as a good way to express displeasure with their posts without getting dragged into an argument.
8.
I would guess this amp isn't very good and wholly unreliable.
Well mine sounds great has never even come close to me even having to consider it's reliability. I switch it on, turn it up and it sounds fine. I play it through a Barefaced Compact and couldn't be happier. The clipping lights do come on a tad early if I crank it up but with no audible clipping and with no nasty side effects as yet. You sir, are rubbish at guessing
9.
Cheap as chips but strangely impressive stats... http://www.thomann.d...nton_ba500h.htm 500W RMS into 4 ohms for £206 ! That's way more watts than a TC Electronic RH450
I have that. Great amp for the money.
10. How about something like this? I Know nothing about it apart from of course it's a Mosrite copy. http://www.tonezonem...%27%20Bass/2082 EDIT: Not an endorsement of that site/shop....that was just the first result of a quick google.
11. I jumped off a stage for a bit of audience fun only to discover that it was too high to climb back onto while playing. I sheepishly finished the song at the foot of the stage waiting for a lift up before the next song started.
12. I put together one of those ^^^^^^ except with just a p pickup and maple board. It was my main bass for years and I loved it.
13. I quite enjoyed it. And I have definitely seen much, much worse. I would rather watch a bit of fun, cheesy, showing off than someone with a Fodera trying to fit as many notes as possible into a tune that only needs four.
14. 16 foot nut. Interesting choice.
15. I went through two sets of these with exactly the same problem. I was fully refunded so no real harm done. It's a shame because the Growlers used to be great strings for the money.
16. My first bass was a Satellite. £25 from the local second hand shop. I want to say it was a P bass but I have a sneaking suspicion it was a short scale ric-a-like. Can't remember.
17. I had a 6 string fretless and it was actually a great bass. Turns out I was too rubbish to play it though.
18. Shiny
19. He's one of us.
20. His Dad's got a van he lets him use.
21. Anyhoo... I think I have successfully cajoled/bullied my lot to do Never Too Much. I can't wait. I think it will make me erect.
22. I do mine myself now with a Karcher Pressure Washer. Actually last time I went to get it done I was told that in most cases it's fine to do it at home. I bought an Earex kit that has some drops and a squirty bulb thing, very much like a soldering squirty bulb thing, but for ears. I did it a few weeks ago and it was massively satisfying. Although my ears seemed fine at the time I got a great big lump out of one ear the size of a small cat/large kitten.
23. I like the bass guitar and music. I concur with the OP completely.
