Not that I don't like these setlists. By God, I like 'em. Perfect evening out for me. But I'm 53 yrs old. For pity's sake, isn't anyone thinking about the children?
My point exactly Skank. I am forcing my lot to do Jessie J, Cee Lo Green, Black Eyed Peas etc. Not just for the kids but for me as well. I don't want to be playing the same 20 songs I was playing 20 years ago! Saying that, we had a run through I Can't Help Myself by the Four Tops today and it was ace!
Thought of covering covers, Slightly different or updated or improved versions. try youtube ing these for example. Contraband-All the way from memphis. David le Roth-Really got me, or Tobacco Rd, etc. Why does nobody ever want to cover Turning Japanese ? great song, but singist seem to be embarrased if you suggest it lol. Another missed one is George Thorogood-Get your haircut and get a real job. Last 2 covers bands I was with had follically challenged lead singers, and the suggestion didnt go down well.
I am pretty sure Mr. Fudge's lot do that. He should get on this thread, they do some great stuff.

Not pee related but I did a gig a while back while just coming to the end of a nasty chest infection. I had to have a sick bag on the stage, hanging on a guitar stand. I didn't actually need it but had my head over it quite a few times mid song. I threw up right until we went on stage, played, came off, threw up for twenty minutes, went back on, played came off, threw up and went home.
I don't think anyone's been too judgemental. No one's said he's a bad person, the people who have hinted they think he's a crap all round player have either stood corrected or not argued their point and people like me who've said he's annoying seem to be generally speaking from experience. If he signed up and came to defend himself on this thread, I'd happily stand by my comments and would be interested to hear why, if he doesn't like being known as "that guy", he hasn't taken the time to upload videos of himself playing grooves (and I did look earlier) to show that he's not a one trick pony. If he's happy to be known for his tasteless showing off at loud volumes, then it's his choice.
Judging his playing is still being judgemental. Not being judgemental would be a quick "not for me" and moving on. Dress it up however you like but we get these threads all the time. Pages and pages of unwarranted criticism. The basschat collective doesn't seem to able to let an opportunity pass to point out some else's flaws, or prove that they are correct/better. He does what he does. He does it well. Whether you like it or not is down to your...what's the word? Oh yeah, judgement!
-
We're a judgemental lot aren't we? It's a good job the people we criticise don't sign up and fight back. Oh. p.s. And for the record, I feel being judgemental is a far worse thing than slap bass!
You say that, and then you call him 'Mr C'. That is rather hypocritical don't you think?
What's he supposed to call him?

Tal. Mainly because she retweeted me once!

Four. Tort. Rosewood. Flatwounds. It's all in the fingers.

You just need a P with a J neck. Lakland Duck Dunn for example.

I've bought many instruments online and they are always just shipped in a cardboard box. The only exception would be an ebay bass that was shipped in a coffin case. (currently for sale! ) Never had a problem with damage. I would be surprised to find that none of those basses were ever insured.

Coffin Case. PRICE DROP £30

PRICE DROP TO £30. Collection only from Hemel Hempstead. This is a bass sized coffin case that somebody shipped a bass to me in. Fits standard Fender style basses a treat. Good condition but not perfect. It has only had light use to and from rehearsals but I've still manage to give it a couple of little nicks here and there. Nothing major and nothing I have had success in photographing! All the clasps work etc. and I have the keys for the locks.

I can watch Bob Babbitt talk and play all day long.

That looks amazing. That has to be one of the most impressive mods I have ever seen. Nice one.

Done and done. I should do a giveaway to boost my followers but I'm too tight!
Glad that it's worked out for you. What actually hold the zero fret in place with this device, do you have to cut the fret board or nut at all?
Well the info on the site says string tension is enough to hold it in place but I have superglued it!
...it's a blast to stomp the pedal and feel 8 German pistons going at it.

Found this on ebay- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Guitar-Parts-FRET-LE...=item1c1c5e7afd Would this do the job ? anybody tried 'em ? Might give it a go.
Yeah I use that kit. Love it. Easy to follow instructions and does a great job. It's worth getting yourself a fret rocker as well though as it will really help finding those pesky high frets.
