ACG Recurve 5 String - Price drop to £950 £1,100 including UK Delivery before I send to a well-knows bass dealer to sell. The bass that's so good I bought it twice. I was the first owner so it was built to my spec. I sold it as I couldn't get on with the filter preamp but always regretted selling it. I bought it back and, you guessed, I still couldn't get on with the preamp. So here it is up for sale. Comes with Hiscox hard case. In very good condition with only one mark I can find. There is a light graze at the lower strap button which I've show in the photos below. Details and more pics on the ACG website here: https://acguitars.co.uk/project/0424recurve-5-34lh/ Tryouts welcome in Glasgow. For One Moment - Lee Hazlewood. All of Lee's songs appear to be very simple on the surface but are all masterpieces of songwriting and arrangement. The bass part is very straightforward but requires attention to note length and timing. For One Moment - Lee Hazlewood - Bass.pdf

Jezzaboy popped in to collect a pedal he'd bought from me and was a welcome distraction from my Saturday afternoon chores. It was a pleasure to discuss all things bass fact to face which is something I rarely get the chance to do. Bonus points scored as he is playing in one of my favourite bars in January so I will get a change to go see him and his band play live. Cheers!

Girls Talk - Dave Edmunds. This is a cracking song with a few tricky variations. This is in no way intended to be an accurate transcription, it's simply my interpretation. Girls Talk - Dave Edmunds - Bass.pdf

Beatles 'new' Single, Now and Then, thoughts?
JohnR replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
As a massive Beatles fan my expectations were low. Insipid with little discernible Beatles character. Plays like a rejected outtake from John's Double Fantasy album. -
The Tony Grey course is very good.

I rarely thwack up!… but i need help with my technique please..
JohnR replied to a topic in Theory and Technique
Could be the strings hitting the frets. Is your action too low or possibly your truss rod does not have enough relief. I only suggest this as I had an identical problem recently. -

A few people have messaged to ask why I am selling such a great cab that is pretty much unused so I thought I'd copy my reply here in case anyone else is curious. I'm downsizing to the bare minimum. I've been through a lot of cabs over the past several years. Vanderkley, Barefaced etc. GRBass were the best of the bunch. Last year I downsized from a GRBass 4x10 to the 2x10 I have now. I thought the 2x10 would be the perfect cab as I very rarely gig and when I do it's with full PA support. However, even the 2x10 is too 'bulky' for the sort of gigs I occasionally play. Once or twice a year I fill in on bass for a band with a 16 piece brass section and the stage is extremely crowded so every cubic centimetre on stage is at a premium. The last few times I played I had to borrow a friends Trace Elliot 2x8 which is why the GRBass 2x10 has never been gigged. I have ordered a 1x10 from LFSYS made by Stevie here on basschat. This should cover all of my needs. https://www.lfsys.co.uk/bassguitarproducts.

I gig very rarely these days but, when I do, I have to learn a lot of songs. I'm in the habit of transcribing them to aid learning and memorisation. These are not intended to be exact transcriptions as the people I play with do their own arrangements which can vary from the originals. I will share a few of the more interesting ones here in case they are of use to anyone but please remember that I am a complete amateur at this and they are not intended to be exact.

Not UK based but Luca has made a few ramps for me for Fender Jazz basses. He takes very detailed measurements and the results are perfect. Top guy. https://www.fingerramp.com/
